That's not true any more. Since April this year, any value for toys can tax-ed. I ordered some figures totalling in value of RM 160 from the US, and was taxed about RM 54. Thankfully its still random check so not every parcel will be checked.

That looks like CGI

I suspect even TRU doesn't have the exact details of the event either as the info on the event is so scarce other that the date/time & venue.
The Star Wars Entry on their website points to a Hong Kong site, and the promotion section for all countries (except Hong Kong) are not linked anywhere.

At least in the US they have mentioned what promotion each retailer will have for the Force Awakens Midnight launch:

Assuming its like previous toy launches by Hasbro Malaysia, there will be Hasbro Toys (at retail price), and free gifts if you purchase X amount and above.

Don't think there will be Lego Star Wars since there have been no news from the local Lego stores, besides the pictures of the sets which are floating on the internet.

Ok, I just noticed an email from TRU:
- Force Awakens poster for any Star Wars purchase for the first 300 receipts/customers
- Free Star Wars goody bag with purchase of RM 200 SW products for first 300.
- Free Lego Star Wars Rebel pack with every purchase of RM 150 and above.
- Surprise Gift for Star Card top spender
- Come dressed as a star wars character and get a special gift

Participating brands are Hasbro, Lego and Mattel

If you are not in a hurry, you should be able to get it later (maybe in a few weeks time) once the Star Wars craze lowers a little. I doubt Lego will retire it so soon.
