I got one of these awhile back. Someone told me they were reasonable and clocked well. Thanks babyelf. Here is what I ended up with, 148 cabye 0543fpmw. On water cooling, good with low volts:

Thanks all, I appreceiate being able to post here. SG, as far as I can tell, goes down to zero. Then, 1 degree below is '255', and displays accordingly to each degree lower. So 10 degrees below is 246 and 19 below would be 237. That corresponds with the bios temp also.
"just wondering if my room temperature is 14 Celcius 24/7 how much do u think can it overclock? staying in genting btw... " 57F, provided good enough air cooling and lucky cpu, some have got 3.2ghz even higher 3.5ghz. They are ~$250.00 some charge more, some slightly less for 148. Some 146 slightly less but hard to get usually. I made my own WC setup. Swiftech 6002 block and a Mag 3 pump. Both the least expensive, Swiftech block just over $40.00 but is very good, and Mag 3 pump is basically a pond pump or used for aquarium type applications. Also about the same price. Very reliable and submersible. I have mine in a drink cooler with water in it. I can add milk cartons full of water that I have frozen to drop the temp down. It make a dramatic difference in how well the cpu runs. However it does take some space, but the idea is good and could be modified to suit available space. Before I did this I used plain truck heater core and a fan. Kept temp about 30c at normal room temps and normal use. I had an old xp type 6002 clamped to my gpu for awhile. It kept the temps very low. in the 40's. But for some stupid reason I removed it and glued the air cooler heatsink on that I was using prior. Now of course I can't remove it. Not one of my better moves. It is a rather large cpu aluminum HS. It works good though, but of course not as good as with water. I'll try to get a pic of it with wc clamped on. It was an experiment - temporary. Shocking This post has been edited by Coop: Jan 12 2006, 08:15 AM |
