waa....just for paint the roof tiles cost RM2400. It is quite expensive la bro. How big is your roof? Just make sure they use high pressure jet wash
to clean the tiles. This is important bro, coz it can make sure the paint last longer and not easily peel off. Make sure the contractor use special paint
for roof that can withstand weather and most importantly the heat.. I know about this since i've been working with roof paint company as their sales
person & engineer. icon_rolleyes.gif

to all friends, i'm planing to built roof totally like this picture polycarbonate plus rangka besi, the different is i want to attached direct to wall
how much price for this hollow polycarbonate?how they quote the price? the purpose is i wanted to put the washing machine and clothes hangar outside my home .

need advice

thanks

From your design, i think its better that u use lightweight steel truss rather than welding coz less expensive. Just use a half truss and plug it to the wall then either use polycarbonate or roof tiles as roof covering. Roughly cost around RM15/sqft for PC roof & RM8 - RM9/sqft for trusses + roof tiles. I've been working in roof trade B4 this & thats y i know about this. brows.gif

I was quoted around RM18 psf for polycarbonate skylight. Is it reasonable?

For RM18 psf on ploycarbonate is quite reasonable. Got some other contractor charge RM20-22 psf. Boleh lah bro but if u still cari some more U can find RM16 psf. rclxms.gif

I saw this kind of Louvres (not really an awning) that help to block the sun in one of the show house, i was wondering how much is it? and did anyone install this in their house and can share their opinion?

Yup bro, this type of louvers really can help block the sun & can give a good shading. But there are some disadvantage of using this :
1) U cannot get a clear view outside & sky from inside of your house.
2) If raining heavily, the raindrop can easily come in compare to using awning. Especially when it rains wt heavy wind.
3) The airflow coming in & out from your hse will not be good compare to using awning.

Hope this info can help out... hmm.gif
