lol, RM2.50 is introductory price, later will increase to RM4.

for almost 6 months too.....

end result is consumers get the benefit of same or even better bread at low price....

anyway since i'm pragmatic and all that, i'm enjoying the low price as long as it lasts.

bleh tok kok like this also can be issue.
if you hate bernas that much stop eats rice already.

down with bernas.

why must a govt. agency be privatised to one person and given monopoly rights?

before bernas was privatised, it used to be called lembaga padiberas negara.

bernas has the sole rights to import rice into malaysia, totally unfair!

bodoh.

No. 6 (High 5) and no. 11 are technically owned by Muslim people.

High 5 has Tabung Haji investment in it and KFC is owned by Johor Corp (Johor State govt. investment arm).

this is like that old khabar angin about 1901 Hot Dogs (also owned by Muslims)....

next time read carefully.

bernas was a govt. statutory body (lembaga padiberas negara) but privatised by Tun Dr mahathir obstensibly to 'raise the economy of bumiputra'.

but instead of having a free market (where anyone can import rice or paddy from anywhere in the world), govt. granted bernas monopoly rights to all rice and paddy imports.

meaning if you want to import thai rice, you must go thru bernas.

and who gets rich? BN cronies.....

at least when it was a govt. body, the govt. (meaning us) get all the revenue....

More or less but RK controlled the largest sugar and cooking business empire in China... he is known as the Sugar Emperor in China now. All no thanks to BN. And even Chinese gomen need to consult him if need to buy palm oil from Malaysia. If he say no, they won't buy and bijaN butthurt.
*
that's because robert kuok's Wilmar PPB is the world's largest palm oil producer, even sime darby for all the hype of the merger with guthrie and golden hope cannot fight the might of wilmar PPB (which produces most of the palm oil in indonesia, where land is bigger than malaysia)....

malaysian, all big companies must have bumiputra shareholders lah and most of them also BN cronies or link inside the govt. so if u really want to boycott any BN linked companies, u have to switch your mindset to eat and help those small stalls or buy things that is not mainstream...

but don't worry about it cronies, malaysian easily forget and go back to where they belong again and buy mainstream product.  rolleyes.gif

to me there is nothing wrong with the bumi shareholding requirement policy provided that it is not given to individuals but to a bumi trust agency (PNB/Tabung Haji/state investment arms etc.).

everyone can invest their money on them, it is not restricted to only BN or PAS/PKR/DAP people.

hence why i mention Tabung Haji and Johor Corp., which are govt. agencies that belong to the people and not to a particular political party or persons deeply connected to a political party.

especially tabung haji, the only way to go on Haji is to save on Tabung Haji, it does not matter if you are UMNO or DAP, if you are a malaysian muslim, officially you must have tabung haji account to go perform hajj (let's ignore the fact that it's just a manmade law to regulate the number of malaysians eligible to go to Mekah)....

you can call it politics or business... what ever it is, they are just shit...

Company A, build by hardworking people.
Once Company A doing well and get public listed, Khazanah will take the Company A over.
Kick out all the old people from Company A which being serving Company A many years.
Put in bumiputra or own people in to Company A.
Khazanah use Company A's profile to make money, so to be able to pay all the Amanah Saham interest every year to rakyat.

Sounds great the plan, but if i am investor, will i invest in this kind of country?

(This is not an accusation, this is just logic thinking and news gathering from Internet and newspaper.)

are you implying that this is what's happening with SP Setia being taken over by PNB?
