Flop or not, but he's a Chelsea player now. He need the team support, he need manager support as well as the fans support.
I still believe in Torres no matter what, but currently Drogba is really on top form. I would play Drogba ahead of Torres now. It's interesting to see how are we going to play during ANC time, but remember, when the african players left us two seasons ago and we had our first match without the african against sunderland, we got 7-2 win. Maybe? |

Ishhh epson. I really don't like your attitude of HATING Fernando Torres. Critics are alright, but the mindset you're having are totally wrong. I am here to back kerplunk, he's right, it's not like Torres set the price tag.
50millions are paid, why not we make use of it?Hating him and bashing him, that's just like throwing the 50 millions into a big rubbish bin. There's always a chance to bring the real Torres back, we should give him support. His poor performance in last season is still haunting him, but, it's always hard for a striker to join in january. After watching some clips when Torres playing for Liverpool, the play style are really different from ours. Torres often found in flanks, he stay very high on pitch but he runs everywhere. Left, right flanks or middle.433 definitely won't work for Torres, honestly, unless he changes his playstyle which doesn't make sense. I strongly believe we need to play 4231 during ANC time to bring out the best of Torres. This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 16 2011, 09:47 AM |

Yeah, I would prefer AVB to use the same formation. It would be good for a team to settle down before we make any major change. But maybe Lampard can come in for Meireles
Drogba should start, we need to play him more before he leave the team for international duty. |

Whoa, really tough game against Napoli. Hamsik Cavani and Lavezzi. Interesting players. At least better than Ac Milan though.
Should be a big challenge for us. |

Uh, just realized our midfielders are full of yellow cards.
Lampard-4 Meireles-4 Ramires-4 In this case, I expect AVB will rest Meireles during Wigan game. Ramires is still very important for our team, resting him against Wigan might be a bit.. risky? Just order him to be careful not to receive any yellow card to keep him available for Spurs game. |

Hi football fans there, watch this.
This is what our young Romeu is doing! We have seen a lot 'Mikel-Terry-Mikel-Tery-Luiz- LONG BALL-Possession lost' earlier in this season. That's why I strongly believe Romeu is the key player that turns our slump into winning ways. This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 17 2011, 09:46 AM |

Alright, definitely I am supporting AVB here. I think his substitutions were alright, no problem with it.
Before Sturridge score the goal, we never look like scoring a goal. Not even one, then we got a little bit lucky and with Sturridge class, we managed to get a goal. With some time remaining, I can see the reason why AVB wanted to hold the lead instead of getting another goal. We NEVER look like gonna get a goal before we scored. Holding the lead is a more sensible option, plus we have packed fixtures coming in. Resting our 2 key players, Mata and Sturridge are extremely useful, especially with tough game coming on. I really don't understand why we should call AVB head. He's doing alright. Perhaps Wigan manager Martinez got it right, subbing another striker in caused us quite a lot of problems, kudos to Martinez, but definitely, not AVB fault. If you argue why sub Sturridge out instead of Drogba, there are lot of reasons. First, Sturridge is our key player, we need to rest him for packed fixtures. Next, we tend to play long ball to Drogba, subbing Drogba out for Torres might causes us to lose more possession and giving more chances to Wigan to equalize. Ivanovic in centreback definitely is not solid enough, I would like to call Bruma back from loan or buy another centre back. And, our midfield are soooooo dead without Ramires energy. We have to cope with this soon, we can't live with this. I sincerely hope Ramires will be back for Spurs match. |

Every time I watch Torres old videos in Liverpool,I always shook my head when I watched him scoring a wonderful goal for Liverpool. He was unbelievable quick, but, what I realize is, he looked a bit slower after his 50+ goals for Liverpool, but his technique was still superb, amazing.
It's really painful to see that the Torres in Chelsea is heavy and slow. I really hope Torres can come back to his prime, I feel very sorry for this amazing man. |

Bringing in a centreback or calling one from loan is A MUST this January.
If you ask me to rate our centrebacks now,I would go for, Terry>Luiz>Iva. The only reliable one is Terry. Luiz has BIG future, but he need someone to cover him, which is now Terry. Ivanovic is now quite poor in centreback, still love him in right back though. Any suspensions or injuries will cost us dearly. Seriously, our back four are completely messed up. Ashley cole has been pretty poor this season and he's not effective. He never take advantage on his side against weak teams as he always did last time. That could be the reason why AVB is trying to lure Perreira in, but it looks impossible with the price tag. So, am I saying we need to bring, a left back, a centreback and a right back? Hmmm. I watched Rodwell before, he's pretty good, but I wouldn't pay 20m for him, that's just like Liv paid 20m for henderson. 10m is the limit for me. If not, save the money and play Josh.He should be a better player than Lampard now, if you ask me, energetic, creative, ambitious. Might turn out to be a 'sturridge gem'. He has huge potential. Meireles-Romeu-Lampard was terrible against Wigan,I would like to try Josh in Lampard position, but of course, I hope Ramires will be fit to play against Spurs so we can see Meireles-Romeu-Ramires again This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 21 2011, 02:37 PM |

QUOTE(epsonstylux @ Dec 21 2011, 02:36 PM) LOL at the aerodynamic. Mata would be a epic player if he plays behind the striker in 4231 formation. But I don't think playing Mata in 433 midfield will works, he's too small to handle the midfield physical.hazard can switch position with mata. hazard on the left, mata in the middle and danny at the other side of the flank. sounds good to me! rodwell as box-box midfield, and romeu holding out the midfield. om nom nom. Hazard will cost us at least 35m right? scary price tag. This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 21 2011, 02:39 PM |

QUOTE(epsonstylux @ Dec 21 2011, 02:39 PM) rodwell is famous for his at the last minute long shots and goals. well i do think he is not worth 20 mil also, anything less than 15 mil is okay with me. Hmm, Rodwell should fit AVB 433 system pretty well, but I'm not sure is he better than Meireles now.Oh yea, why not we try Hoillett from Blacburn as Hazard alternative? I was impressed by that young lad, quick feet like Messi. Go watch him someday, definitely worth a watch! This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 21 2011, 02:56 PM |

Oh well, The Sun is reporting it too.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...ary-Cahill.html But wait, isn't it AVB said we're not interested in him? |

Hmm, I think it would be really risky(or stupid?) to play Torres against a tough team like Spurs. Not Drogba fanboy here, but this is just not the right time.

Thanks god Ramires and Terry are both fit. Too bad, Luiz will not be available against Spurs. Ivanovic and Terry need to work harder this time, NO MORE ERROR PLEASE.
Mata Drogba Sturridge Meireles Romeu Ramires Cole Terry Iva Bosingwa Cech This will be my line up. Friday morning, I can't wait anymore This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 21 2011, 09:42 PM |

So, tonight is going to be a huge match. More like a do or die match.
I sincerely pray for a win, a victory would complete my year after getting my PMR result. Come on Chelsea! |

Thank you for all the wishes
Luckily AVB knows Meireles and Lampard can't play together. Romeu is a bit tired so he couldn't start the match? I am happy to see Drogba starts the game, instead of Torres. |

Fair result I would say. Can't ask more. Spurs had their game in first half, but we defended fantastically. Terry block at the last minute is... just fantastic. Cole played very well too.
And who is with me, Bosingwa plays better in centrehalf position than right back? He's good! Ramires should've burried his two golden chances. Cech goal kicks are a bit worrying huh? Always fall into opponent feet. Edit, ops I am sorry, Meireles never get yellow card in this match This post has been edited by ericling: Dec 23 2011, 06:09 AM |

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Dec 23 2011, 06:04 AM) who else thinks the goal spurs scored was down to a cech error..again.second game in a row now.the pattern of individual mistakes is still there.haih I agree, a brave goalkeeper should've keep the ball. Cech is really worrying, his goalkicks are poor, and his full of injury head starting to trouble him. Sigh. |
