Here's the pic of my betta in the bottle upon purchased and the tank i've prepared for her. Please advise if my tank setting up is correct as it's my 1st time having a betta fish.
I've yet giving her the name.....still thinking

Hi there, i'm new here. I've just bought my betta last nite. The guy told me it's male as female seldom put on sale coz their tail not as pretty as male but when i check it out at home, i notice my betta is female (coz the label there written as halfmoon, female). Make me confused

All the sifus here.......pls help me
I dunno what had happened to my Bluey (Halfmoon Betta) tail I cleaned and changed half of his tank water on Tuesday nite and i've moved his tank from living room to my room. Everything seems fine as he's swimming happily and his colour changed brighter blue. The next morning (Wed) i woke up and he's still fine. But when i reach home last nite, i saw his tail was torn. I'm so worried, is he sick? This morning he still very active as before just the tail is more torn than last nite. His tail is pretty 2 days before : But lastnite his tail become like this : This is where i placed him in my room : I need advices from all the sifus here......plsss |

QUOTE(LuQEE @ Mar 22 2012, 10:34 AM) my advice, do partial WC frequently and adding betta meds to speed the healing process. I only put 1 plant in the tank, which i tot he can use as hiding place. Hmm maybe i should take it out from the tank. But with the tearing fins, will this risk his health too? Ok noted, i'll drop by pet shop and get the betta meds for Bluey. Thanks for the advices.i personally havent used any betta meds b4 cant give any specific answers regarding it. if all is well, fins will start regenerating within weeks time. my newb opinion on possibility of the tearing fins, correct me if im wrong: 1)fin rot - dirty water parameter due to rarely WC regime 2)external parasites - hook worms may hook on to fish gills and fins, and usually veiltype will nip off his infected tail to stop the source 3)environment unfriendly - too much decorations or unsuitable decorations may possibly trigger tail biting. my male betta start to nip his tail when i transffered him into heavily planted tank since they are nuisance and got tangle in the gorwth when chasing sorority females lol |
