here's a picture of my betta tank for my "coming soon betta". all of the things inside my tank is plastic. plastic tank, plastic coral and plastic beads below. for the coral, it's very soft like rubber, but it smells. not bad but kinda nice. i tried running it under pipe water for a long time but still got the smell. will it hurt the fish when i put it in?

i kinda pity this little kid as sometimes he see his own reflection from the wall of tank and flared at himself.
what i'm trying to ask now is that i think he's suffering from fin rot? i searched a bit on google and some people said putting aquarium salt. is there any other way to cure it other than salt?

EDIT : is it normal for the fish to not eat the pellets i gave him? he's the first day in his tank now. gave him sanyu ichiban micro pellets (that's what the shopkeeper told us to buy)

Added on July 25, 2012, 3:59 pm2nd day and he's still not eating..

Did you do 100% water change after taking the plastic plant out? Use aged water
*
yes i did.. i didn't use aged water as i don't have any container to age it, used tap water + anti-chlorine instead..is that okay?

update with my new betta..i finally solved the problem with my betta not eating.
now my bro give me another problem again doh.gif
when i was at school, he went to bought another 2 female betta and put inside the male tank. just saw it when i came back home. the tank i'm keeping him and honestly i can say it's quiet small, even for 1 fish, but now there's 3 in there.
the male keep fighting and biting off the fin of female. very kesian them but my bro insist to keep them in the tank. so now i'm going to just wait all of them die, and buy another HM..the one i'm having now is veil

Tank so small put filter or not also need wc once a week la at least.

That ct is photoshop 1 la.
*
so filter only can help a little?
haha sry didn't know that, just saw it on imgur homepage den post here dy xD

QUOTE(abesabraham @ May 29 2013, 06:03 PM)
Better to use a filter, and cycle first, u can set low water outflow if you're scared ur betta dont like the strong current.
By changing every few days, u stress ur betta a lot. Imagine u settle down in ur home, then once every few days, somebody pour u out and then put water again. And a lot of times ppl do 100% water change, which is very bad. U can shock ur fish and ur fish can die.

Its a big nono for aquarium keepers.
*
any recommendations for filter that i can use for small tank like the one i'm having now?

can i know where to buy some colourful hmpk at shahalam/klang? really interested to buy 1 hmpk like black dragon, orange and etc.
*
I don't think you can keep betta with other fishes in the same tank. He will be very stressed. You can try with female betta tho. And never keep male betta together in the same tank

3 gallons...I think roughly 11 litres or so hmm.gif Btw, thanks! biggrin.gif
Ahh I see. Btw, I do know that bettas sometimes will follow our fingers when we point around, but mine don't do that at all. In fact, it's a lil scared, it'll back off when I put my finger near it sad.gif
*
that happens on my betta too, but last time my female betta, it will follow wherever my finger go, sometimes will jump out of water when i feed her..

I guess so. Btw, I read just now that Betta spit their food out and eat them back again is because the food is too hard to chew. Better to soak the food in water for 10 minutes first before feeding smile.gif

Btw, here's a video of my betta wub.gif

wow your tank so big...now i feel so kesian for my betta coz give him so small tank for him to swim

oh and i've been feeding my betta with 3 pellets (sometimes 4) everyday, will it be enuf?
