my advice, do partial WC frequently and adding betta meds to speed the healing process.
i personally havent used any betta meds b4 cant give any specific answers regarding it. if all is well, fins will start regenerating within weeks time. my newb opinion on possibility of the tearing fins, correct me if im wrong: 1)fin rot - dirty water parameter due to rarely WC regime 2)external parasites - hook worms may hook on to fish gills and fins, and usually veiltype will nip off his infected tail to stop the source 3)environment unfriendly - too much decorations or unsuitable decorations may possibly trigger tail biting. my male betta start to nip his tail when i transffered him into heavily planted tank since they are nuisance and got tangle in the gorwth when chasing sorority females lol |

bro, put a lil bit of yeast or use green water for the daphnia food and place in shaded area...then they will multiply
now everyone can sell their own daphnia~ lol |

bettas eat like pigs(sorry, no offense, but it is true in my point of view), i tend to feed them alot and about 5 times a day before,
but i dont recommend that, it will make ure betta fat, lazy and even can caused swim bladder disorder. 1 or 2 times a day is enough. i think yours is ok i guess. (plz correct me if im wrong here) |

mine is kinda like that but without the puff up scale, read that if the scale is not upright, the betta can still survive but with those bloated appearance.
