Yew Lin: What is the Prawn button? Is it betta feed?

Anyone knows why hm betta start biting its own tail? He lives in a 15 gallon tank alone since he killed the last of the neon tetras. After the kill start biting himself. Is he bored?

oic I thought feed for betta babies coz last time my platy ate my cherry shrimp.

Thanks, yew lin. Sounds like ketapang is magic potion for betta keeping since all the pros recommend this. I thought he was sexually stressed coz my drop filter doesn't allow him to make bubble nest

Just got a big-ear lavender. He's so tiny and cute! But super active. Going to try out some English Garden decaf tea. Wonder if the tannin will work as ketapang replacement.

Can I keep 5 females with 1 male? Will they kill the opposite sex or tear his fins off?

LuQEE, I think my betta is sick. His fin ray got black line. He's a fancy with 2 red dots on his head but he's blue & black spots like getting darker and then his fin rays like getting more black lines. I think I have to wait and see before I get the females

I know nothing about wild bettas. I'm just an amateur with a few fancy bettas

You are like expert la where la I dare to kutuk you. I don't even know how to create a simple planted aquarium for my betta. Can betta die suddenly from cold without showing any symptoms? Then need to get heater already but I thought this only apply to countries with 4 seasons. Since our climate is similar to Thailand, shouldn't make so much difference to the temperature right?

Anyway, I know this my weirdo is like off balance when he stops at on spot. It's like when he stops at the bottom of the tank his tail is like trying to float. When I spotted him at the LFS, he was lying side ways on the surface corner of the vessel. Look more like he was tired after flapping his big pectoral too much. So kesian, but so cute. So I decided to get him. Now I placed an anubias in the tank with the leaves sticking out of the surface a bit. He will rest on the leaves every now and then. I hope he's happy and not sick

I finally got 5 juvenile females and placed them in the tank with 1 adult male plakat. He keeps flaring at everyone of them and then they destroyed his bubble nest. Now he's mad. Chasing all of them everywhere but when they pause, he pauses too. So funny looking at them. I think I better remove the male


Did you do 100% water change after taking the plastic plant out? Use aged water
