I used to buy betta from aquabid from thai breeder, but most of the time the betta will develop fin rot. COuld be diff water condition? Anyone may input on this?

It was few year back, I have stop keeping betta.

I just bought a male beta....he seem active...I was thinking to buy a new tank for him..as right now i put him in a fish bowl...

I have a few questions:
1. do i need to get oxygen for him?
2. can I put kiambang or any real plants in his tank or only specific plant?
3. then when i put my finger close to the bowl he seems to run away..is it because he is
still new with me?
4. I gave him food~ but after that I saw him spit it out again why?
5. I saw alot of website said that you need to get thermometer to know whats your water temperature~ Do i need to do that as well?

below are the answer for your question,

1. Dont need oxygen pump but you need to keep changing water for the fish bowl that you are using now, maybe 2-3 days change 1 time water
2. you can put plant in your tank but make sure its aquatic plant, i have marimo moss ball in my tank
3. maybe because its still new to you, my betta will come rushing to the side tank when i move near cause they know i will be feeding them food
4. maybe the food / pallet that you feed your betta is to big? if too big they will spit it out and sallow again n spit it out until the food is right size for them
5. i dont think you need a thermometer la, my betta in my aircond room also no problem. my betta already live in my room for 2 years also no problem

I have questions

My betta didnt react anything when he saw mirror anymore is it normal?
Then i dunno what to do.. Everytime my betta saw me he became aggressive... And tries yo get attention from me... So i play with him then he jumped... Kinda adorable but i also think he is hungry so now i gave him 2 or 3 pellets only... But he still hungry.... He wants more food... Is it normal? I wanted to give him more but im scared he will get sick...
Then he always sleep near the rock area bawah sekali.. Is it bcuz its cold or normal?
Then my house always on aircon like almost 24 hours.... Is it okay?
What other things that i can give to him to play? He seems bored...
Im sorry im very new but i want to make sure that my betta is happy im scared it will die 😔

Feed at least 7-8 and he must finish all within a minute.
Bettas generally like room temperature water, not icy cold water in aircond room.

Uuuhhh yeaahh nowadays i gave him more cuz i saw him begging for food like crazy....

Anyway my betta's tail kinda rot... So i asked the aquarium guy how to treat his tail.. They give me nika patch a tail ubat... It can treat any fish tail or fin rot. So i put the liquid in a different tank and it became green color.. Huhuhu at first i was shocked but i gugel they said fish medication can change the water color... Then i put my betta there... U can refer below photo.... But is it okay??? Wont harm my betta right?😐😐 have any of u guys try this medication before?

My Neon tetra is fine...but i only left 2 out of 4!! My Betta ate the other 2... I always caught him chase the other neons...
Why is he so hungry...if he saw me he was like jumping and chaotic..I fed him alot lately..but he still hungry..So weird

That's why it known as fighting fish! Aggressive is their nature. It is best to isolate the betta with other fishes.

Btw, Indian Almond leave is the first aid kit for sick/inactive betta. Thanks to our climate, you can find it anywhere.

about the changing water part, can anybody teach me how to do it? any dechlorinator needed? do we need a filter for this?

Everyone got different approach but I use an azoo palm filter with wool on top and bio rings on the bottom as media. A cut pre-filter is used on the outlet to prevent disturbing the water which both fish and floating plant don't like.

Reason being is sometimes when I go on vacation or something, there won't be anyone to help maintain. Also my betta has a nasty habit of biting its own tail so have to take care of water to prevent infection.

The floating plants are there for the same reason.

You can don't use filter but have to be more careful and frequent with water change.

Speaking about water change, I do ~30% water change twice a week. The water I used are tap water de-clorinated with Seachem Prime and aged overnight.

So happens I was just doing some housekeeping so snap a few photos.

How long do you clean your tank? Water change at 20% weekly correct?
