Buying outright from maxis depends on stock availability. So far haven't heard many buying outright successfully from maxis in this forum for hotlink let alone another plan. Try ask maxis. If I happen to see a maxis outlet, will ask also n let you know.

Buying outright elsewhere and subscribing to surfmore50 is another alternative. It's really up to you.

Ok, thanks. I went to maxis pyramid and they said yes, can change hotlink to nano sim. But I didn't change coz no phone yet. Plus, it was crowded. They only have stock for 16gb.

Get maxis contract. Discounted iphone5 since ur usage is $50-60 per month anyway.

Go early to any maxis branch. They should have 16gb in stock. I went to maxis ecurve today n pyramid yday. Both got stock but got many ppl in q. But should be fast moving q.

For me, I am trying umobile prepaid today. My usage for calls n SMS are minimal. I surf more but usually on wifi. So monitoring umobile performance. If not up to par, then I might opt for maxis.

First thing is ask maxis whether they can sell the phone outright to you as a hotlink prepaid user. In their FAQ, they can but in real life, priority is given to those taking postpaid plan.

iValue 1 plan has 2Gb quota. Since you have used 5GB (am I understanding this problem correctly?), Maxis should throttle the speed rather than charge you.
