Just to share with all, I spoke to Maxis CS earlier this evening:
1) during this 3 event days, the phone can be bought either with plan or outright (RRP);
2) no data cap/extra charges applies for iValue plans also - guess this helps those deciding wheher to buy outright and take SurfMore plans?
3) they can't confirm yet whether if a 24 month plan is taken whether the phone comes with warranty for 12/24 months - likely announce on Friday onwards

Actually I often wonder what really is the benefit of not buying up with a plan? I mean ok la if you're a non-Maxis user. But if you are an existing user and have been for some time, I don't see many switching telcos. If compared to SurfMore 50 for a fair comparison of data at least + RM50 being paid for calls on average each month - that works up to the RM100 of iValue 1.
So what really is the benefit? Everyone talks about it ie no contract etc but what real benefit - unless you're not a Maxis user.
Any thoughts anyone? Or am I missing something? Lol

Those who received the RM999 MOC promo - did u register for the 3 day Maxis Launch Event or not? and if yes, did you reply or didn't?
Just curious coz i'm a MOC member as well but did RSVP to the launch event and haven't received anything.
Thanks.

QUOTE(neome @ Dec 11 2012, 10:10 PM) I did register for ROI but did not RSVP since I wont be in KL on the launching day unfortunately.. then I got this surprise promo mail.. guess the offer is getting better and better if u dont RSVP hehe .. But it seems the offer applies to like a round 2 of persuading people to RSVP and come for the 3 day event as booking ends tomorrow midnight and u are asked to bring the print out with u - hence it seems to only apply during the launch: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2618046/+880

I've a feeling Maxis LTE might be launched either with iPhone 5 or after: http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...56&sec=businessBUT the issue of applicable spectrum for the iPhone 5 doesn't match what Malaysia is getting.....time will tell I suppose...

With regards to the MOC pricing, is the only real benefit getting the phone at RM150 less for eg for the 16GB iValue 2?
I don't regard the no advance payment as a benefit as it will eventually come back to you over the first few months.
How does that contra with the fact u have to pay an extra RM55/month for 24 months if say compared to if I originally planned to take the 16GB iValue 1 for 12 months?
Any advise? Just unsure how worthwhile is this MOC pricing or is it just a way to get u to spend more per month on what u don't really need and being locked down for an additional year.

Thanks kuntakinte & cute_boboi.
Yeah makes sense to only pick the MOC plan IF the individual had originally planned to get the iValue 2 & above for 24 months in the first place.
Ok no MOC pricing for me. Sorted.
