I was at Maxis recently for a SIM replacement. From what I found out, it seems Maxis has enforced a policy to charge rm25 for any SIM replacement regardless of customer status and so forth. Strangely, my local Maxis center is not charging for Nano SIM replacement for iPhone 5 purchases.
It seems what could be happening is internal misunderstanding by Maxis personnel regarding the SIM replacement policy. Some centers view Nano SIM issue as a replacement, whereas others don't. There is no clear guideline on whether issuing a Nano SIM counts as a replacement or not. Maxis' internal problem nevertheless. Bureaucracy.
I think Maxis should make it FOC for each customer sign plan with purchase i5. Is a better way to thanks their customer for buying Maxis service. It seems what could be happening is internal misunderstanding by Maxis personnel regarding the SIM replacement policy.
