Many of iPhone user asking on how to delete contact all simultaneously.
Either by trick, by apps, by cydia or through iTunes.
Below are the methods that commonly used by iphone user to delete all their contact:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Hence, I would share another method to delete all contact in iPhone that:-
- require NO internet connection [no need to use wifi or cellular data.]
- using NO iTunes [which means no need to connect to pc.]
- using NO any additional apps [which means no paid apps.]
- NO Cydia! [Which means it is applicable to non-jailbreak iphone.]
- can be done within 5 minutes! [which means u free lots of your time]

Step 1 - this step is not compulsory. its just to prove that this method is not using any internet connection.

Turned off your cellular data connection and also wireless connection by switching your device to airplane mode. This step is not compulsory but just to make sure that u won’t be using any data to avoid extra billing. Here is my original contact in my iPhone. It’s all still there in the phonebook entry.
Check it out in the image below:

this tutorial is to delete all contact, not delete all data.
and by restoring your phone back to factory setting, it may frozen your phone.
there's lot of iphone user complain in the technical support saying that their iphone freeze after 4 hours-5hours reset their settings.
this is what we call "wasting time".
other than that, most of the time people want their apps remain there in the iphone.
so that they can add extra market value to 2nd hand market price.

Apple has the ability to import contact but cant export contact to sim, know why ?
Not because of their dumbest of neglecting the most basic feature that avaiable on most phone.
But just one of their intention to keep their customer with them.
Once u are with the I-Family, u will think twice to switch to other phone due to the problem of migrating contact.

but still, i think its un-appropriate by not having those option.
its not only transfer contact from phone to sim, but also option for manage like grouping,
delete all contact, marking, send as business card, etc..
for sending as business card, its fine with copy and paste, but still its not convenient. smile.gif

they are not putting it as an option because it is their intention to not make it user friendly.
from user point of view, it is troublesome.
but from marketing strategy point of view, this is one of the best way to maintain the population of apple user.
not everyone expert in using iTunes. so, when a user already use iphone, and he found that it is really difficult to transfer contact number, that user will always remain using apple product and not changing to nokia or sony or whatever brand that exist.
this is the same reason why they come out with MicroSim idea.

as i mentioned in the first post, erase all content is not advisable for apple product
it is worse case scenario if the iphone is lock set.
u may need to pay hundred bucks to unlock it again

no only 1 exchange acc i created. after i save the account, it didnt prompt me to delete contacts from iphone. when i open the new exchange account, then i toggle the contacts to off, then pop up message "Delete from My iphone", but i confirm, all my contacts are still there.

There is also a very simple way to do this if ur phone is running on 5.0 or above... what I do is install Find My iPhone app from appstore (apple app FREE) and then login into it.. then there is a option to WIPE ur data or LOCK your phone... just select the wipe... it will erase the whole phone and reboot with the new config screen.

Even this can be done thru a pc if your phone is on wifi or 3G. Logon to icloud.com and select your iphone and select the option WIPE data. U can use this option even if your phone is lost also.

U need pc. U need apps. U need internet connection.
While this method, is use nothing. No apps, no data, no cloud, no pc, and no itunes.

maybe u can use MCbackup or ContactsEX to backup your data, send through email in xcl format, and then u can edit using Excel, restore back to your phone.

This guide is so simple - yet it is so far away from what a normal iPhone user would think to do, especially if you don't have your iphone contacts synced with Exchange or the iCloud. Thanks - here are a couple of more methods i found to delete all or multiple contacts from the iphone.

Hope this is also helpful.

Would this method work on a jailbroken iPhone? Because Erase all content doesn't work on jailbroken iPhones. Just wondering if they use the same code.

Also, I just enable Contacts in iCloud and disable it. It'll ask if I want to keep the contacts on the iPhone. Works for others like Contacts, Reminders, Synced Photos, etc

I just create the back up by exporting contact info in outlook, then erase all the contact in outlook then sync to erase the contact info in the phone.....
I guess this is another way.....

itools is a great utility to recover contacts from your iPhone. It's free and works great. If you're not using iCloud that is.

Cool. But I use iCloud for my contacts. It's easier than this.

When I open up iCloud and tick away the Contacts tab, it asks me whether should I keep the contacts in my phone.

So this is quite useless to me. Haha. Nice contribution anyways. biggrin.gif

I also met your problem, when you install app on your iPhone, you need to backup your iPhone, because maybe this app will crash your ios system, but I suggest you trying some app to backup your iPhone, If you lost your data from your iPhone with Vibosoft iPhone backup extractor, you can still restore them.

Two ways to restore your contacts

one: You can extract iPhone contacts from your iTunes backup if you sync your iPhone to iTunes before.:
Another: You can use Vibosoft iPhone data recovery program to recover contacts directly from your iPhone device.
For lost contacts: How can I retrieve deleted contacts from iPhone without backup file

this tutorial is to delete all contact, not delete all data.
and by restoring your phone back to factory setting, it may frozen your phone.
there's lot of iphone user complain in the technical support saying that their iphone freeze after 4 hours-5hours reset their settings.
this is what we call "wasting time".
other than that, most of the time people want their apps remain there in the iphone.
so that they can add extra market value to 2nd hand market price.

In order to delete all contacts from iPhone, you have them syncing with another source (gmail, windows contacts, Yahoo, etc.) then in iTunes, select your iPhone under devices (left side), go to Info (top), deselect "Sync contacts with".

When you do this, it will ask you to remove your contacts or not. Click on "Remove Contacts", and then Apply (botton right).

If you don't have your contacts sync'd, then you can either setup a temporary sync to iPhone Data Eraser that you have access to and then do the above, or do them one at a time.
