*** Q & A Section ***

1. Where to buy these Asus G-Series gaming notebooks? For instance: Asus G73.
A = You have two alternatives to get yourself a R.O.G gaming notebook. First, you can buy it via local resellers around Malaysia. Click here for more information. Second, you can buy it via other countries resellers. For example, GenTechPC from US. Please refer to *** Where to Buy? *** section.

2. Any difference in price if I buy from Malaysia resellers or US resellers?
A = Yeah. For instance, the price difference of Asus G73Jh in Malaysia and US is astonishing. Malaysia one may cost you around RM10000.00 and the US one may cost you around RM6000.00 in relative (dependent on the currency exchange).

3. How much is the shipping/ delivery fee if I import the notebook from US?
A= The shipping/ delivery fee will vary from different freight forwarders and resellers. For instance, the USPS (freight forwarder) of GenTechPC (reseller) will cost you 149 USD.

4. How to do the wire transfer? Is it safe?
A = You can do it at any local bank but the most ideal one is Maybank as the transfer fee is the lowest of all, that is, around RM25. Nevertheless, you guys must bear in mind that the US bank will charge you some money for the transaction as well. For instance, 30 USD for the assigned bank of GenTechPC. As for the safety level, it is safe as long as you buy from a reputable reseller and follow the TT procedures.

5. May I use PayPal, PayPal eCheck or credits card to make the payment?
A = Usually, the resellers from US only accept wire transfer for international transaction. However, there are some members who manage to do their payment besides of TT. Thus, my advice is to ask the resellers first before making your payment.

6. How about the warranty of Asus notebook?
A = All Asus notebooks come with 2 years global warranty which means that you can claim the warranty wherever you are as long as that particular city has Asus service center. As for the 1 year accidental warranty, it only applies to North America.

* If anyone has questions regarding on these notebooks, feel free to ask around this thread and I will write down them all at this section. Thanks!

So I've got myself a 24" LCD monitor that does 1920x1080. And I've finally got the chance to run the my g53sx at full hd. I've got to say, the crip still performs it's gaming duty admirably even at full hd. I'm not talking abt minecraft or dota at 1080p, im talking dem gpu killer games like metro 2033. I was always under the impression that it won't perform well cuz of the crippled memory bus.

Here are some results. Gaming was done with overclock and resolution at 1080p

The witcher 2 - med settings - some features disabled - avg 30-35 fps
Crysis 1 - med to high - 30 to 40 fps
Crysis 2 - high settings - 35 to 45 fps
Metro 2033 - med+dx11 - 35 to 45fps
battlefield 3 - med to high - 35 to 40fps

The crip really struggles when I try to push things to all high, as it limited by the smaller bus width. But tune the details down abit to medium, and ull see good fps in ur gaming , as the smaller bus width is able to cope with the moderate flow of data coming from d gpu . And don't forget to overclock it to maximize ur gpus performance biggrin.gif
*
Cripple GTX560M peforms well in High setting on FHD. Ultra will actually killed by the bus width limitation.

Sorry to hear that but seems like GTX 570M is more suitable for G53SX 3DE performance.

It's all good brah. The 560m is good enuf for 3D gaming for all the gpu killer games given the screens  low resolution.

Now I'm dreaming about 3D gaming on a big screen at full HD. Probaly have to built a desktop and SLI gpus to handle all that jazz at full hd smile.gif
*
I'm still gonna stick to my QX6800 for the meantime. It still good for gaming.

Its still a processor, depending on what usage will u be using. I did use it for processing my parents videos, game and rendering. Most of the time gaming before i got my G53SX.

Good luck with that waiting period. 2 weeks is not accurate. Pretty sure it'll drag longer. *touchwood*

Alternatively u could've go for Qosmio X775 with the same price range.

8GB -slot 1
8GB -slot 3
8GB -slot 4 --------------> latest upgrade? right under keyboard ( easy installation)

or

8GB-slot 2---------> at laptop bottom( complicated installation)
1 more question, does it still running dual channel?
no prob if he installed in slot4 right under keyboard
try do clean reinstall of 3dcard driver
*
It should be this configuration.

G53SX default Samsung 4GB is installed at Slot 1.

Godlike War install it in
Slot 4 - 4GB (Below the keyboard.)
Slot 2 - 4GB (Above Slot 1, at the bottom panel)

Still dual Channel. Have u even google before asking? Sandy Bridge does not support Triple channel. Heck Sandy Bridge has highest memory bandwidth even with just dual channel.

I wonder where to get those lower latency DDR3 RAMs  hmm.gif

Good luck finding it. Still wondering stick to another stick of Mushkin D9 RAM or Corsair. hmm.gif Neway, I'm out of budget for this month. cry.gif
