Does anyone else notice that some of the information, for the quality survey is outdated by 3 years? Survey was done in 2009. (shown on pg. 5)

Im getting the g55 also because for work. I'm studying architecture, a strong laptop (and since its portable) will come in handy with all the heavy softwares for my course.

Im upgrading mine to 16gb max. Will find a way in the future to include a SSD in my laptop to improve the boot time.

My previous laptop couldnt stand my architectural softwares. Even after ram upgrades i wasnt really familiar with laptop specs at that time. Not until i joined a few forums and start researching about them. After almost 2years of toleration with lags, crash and even overheat issues. I've decided to get something that is strong to support all my softwares.

and yes, SSD really makes a huge difference but asus just decide to screw us over by putting the mSATA slot deep inside the G55. Upgrading a SSD on your own is impossible without voiding the warranty.  but if your softwares can run perfectly fine on your current laptop, i dont see a reason to upgrade.

TRY not to change to ssd in g55 bro..hdd is enough

then maybe is time for you to upgrade to the g55

of course ssd will perform better than hdd..but is 160gb enough for you?? and it is not friendly to upgrade hdd..also , avoid asus service centre as much as you can unless you need to service urgently.

btw G55 IS A GREAT LAPTOP 

ya can use the adapter sebagai senjata.desktop is always better and more powerful

that once i not sure bro can use max storage or not, windows 7 os will take alot of space too..but most probably not..coz the primary hdd is very easy to access..wont void warranty

Ur usage not even heavy. Unless ur running multiple simulators simultaneously. 8GB of ram is sufficient already unless ur hitting 70-80% Physical Memory with 8GB of RAM. SSD is a better investment, though i'm still allocating budget to swap both 5400rpm HDD for SSD in my G53SX. Already given my M4 SSD to my desktop as boot and development drive solely.

Mine also bought from tech.The price is good la.

oh sorry..the ram inside is HYUNDAI DDR3 1600 MHZ ram.. mixing the ram with another apacer 1333mhz ram havent been a problem so far

Why you asking him to buy the alienware m17x r2 when r4 version is out?at least the r3 version is ok la..and xxxcriminal once posted here that his budget max is rm4500..the sager np9170 is rm 5399

The y580 is a good option but it is only 1 hdd bay and the msata port, same like g55.and the price is wrong,, how can the y480 and y580 have same price?
