i reckon the ram speed is the same but i'm not sure weather the brand is the same. haven't check the existing ram in the back. but will it have any impact if i use ram from different brand?

Brand doesn't matter, BSOD after installing new RAM lead to 2 possibility, incompatibility SPD, or Ur new RAM Chip may be faulty.

i think ori ram is samsung brand 1...

New batch may be different, it depends on the supply.

Guys, got your application for the ROG mouse yet? If you're using the GX900 mouse, then here is the place to put your mouse to its full potential.

I'm planning to get a g53sx, but i found out that g55 will be releasing soon (expected release date on 28/4/2012?) Im not sure, read this from NBR. I'm an architecture student, so i'll be using mostly cad programs/revit/3dmax/sketchup/rhino/photoshop. And I'm also an avid gamer. So is this a good laptop for me? or should i wait for the g55 instead. Been waiting to get a new laptop for months now so wouldnt mind waiting longer. But hopefully i can get it by june. How much difference the performance will be between the g55 and g53? And i want a laptop cause i wont be staying at home for my studies (and for travelling etc). Sorry if i asked too many questions.

edit: just read that ivy bridge processor has been delayed, so im guessing g55 will be delayed as well. Another ques, is the 8gb ram sufficient for 3dsmax/rhino or 12gb would be better?

Yet, it might not be dual drive configuration anymore. Waiting for Ken Lee to do his preview.
