QUOTE(ian913 @ Jan 9 2012, 11:04 PM) congratz to u just now i went to harvey norman to test the z506, the sales person juz plug in the hp to test for me, and it got 5 channel output from the speakers then he told me that no need external sound card oso can get 5 channel output 1 i really confuse , some more he say his hp can make 5 channel output, why my laptop cant any audiophile can enlighten me? you can get all the speakers to produce sound. but it won't be 5.1 in the sense that each speaker has it own output. It'll just be left and right (2.1) So that won't be surround sound since you can't arrange the 2 speakers to be behind you. You ned the 5.1 channel soundcard to do so. Added on January 10, 2012, 12:56 amso basically you buy 5.1 speaker without soundcard you wasting money. the satallite speaker quality of the Z523 is better thanthe Z506, but imo the Z506 more pretty. (iirc the sub of the Z523 is better too) So no sound card mean you waste money to get quantity > quality This post has been edited by DoubleU: Jan 10 2012, 12:56 AM

at least they are not integrating the battery... yet...
@jeffery, yea good to see redesign of keyboard layout, but i wonder if the casing is bigger. I only have about one half cm on either side of my keyboard... and the keys on the video look about the same size...
Added on January 16, 2012, 12:29 amalso, the touchpad looks a tad too much to the left

also since hardware tread quite dead, need ask sifu here. AMD HD6850 (desktop de) what level is it ah? on par with GTX570? also, AMD A6 processor + HD6850 should be enough to game a max, on fullHD, for most games? Or nearly max?

+1 for the U3, not so much the cooling, but the elevation very good. Makes it easier to see the monitor.
I'm giving up my G53Jw... can't switch to another laptop, went browsing today, no other laptop that caught my eye and stole my heart like the G53...
Gonna build a desktop...

search for calibrate color at windows start menu, or go control panel, under display options
Added on January 21, 2012, 3:46 pmyou can adjust gamma, and rbg settings there
Added on January 21, 2012, 3:47 pmits not auto so you gotta either judge with your eye, or use an external camera to sample the white value to see what to adjust

hm yea... tricky hhaha. Set your white balance to a fix temperature (i think florensence lighting is erm.. 5000K?)... then take a photo? then use photoshop see what value? use a piece of white paper to let the camera's auto white balance set itself?
