I dont know bro, but 1 thing I know is that it is very very limited unit

if i recalled correctly, the Y480 comes with a kepler/fermi hybrid gpu. So its GT 640le if im not mistaken. I hope the y580 doesnt come with a GT 640... there must be a mistake

word of advice, when it first came out ON the first day for pre-order. Do not jump into decision thinking that "the faster I order, the faster it'll come". Instead wait a while, cause there will be shops selling it or a few resellers who may have ready stocks for it.

i asked him before, he told me he doesnt carry 1600 ram yet cause i also want to upgrade it to 1600. Maybe you can ask him again, mana tau he already got 1600 ram? haha

How many more gb you all want? For me I think total 8 gb will do. Hahaha

For our seller, I dun care he carry 1600 or not I just want him to deliver the unit.

Devour ? I feel bad for him, I asked him so many questions bout buying G55, but he said he will get me 1600, if I really want to and the price is *** haha. am I the 1 who raised ur devil within ? haha    1600 is good

no la, i'll honour my deal with Devour  cause i also asked him a lot of questions. He's a nice guy, but then if my laptop still can't arrive by mid june or for the next batch. Then i have no choice but to get another laptop dy. I'm simply don't have time to wait anymore.

anyway if devour can get us 1600 ram then it'd be good. Maybe i'll pm him later

but any significant difference between 1600 vs 1333. I have read discussion about them, and ppl pointed out that there wont be any noticeable changes. Opinions?

so I'm getting a cooler pad also , I heard U2/ X3 are most recommended. which 1 is better ? or any other choice? sad case for me is , I need to travel to kl by bus 3/4 hours/ then lrt to lowyat, go get my g55, and cooler, then go b titi, and b kuantan by bus

SAD i'm afraid my hand canot carry that much.

i picked the x3 at rm95..it has a big fan and led lights..can adjust the fan speed and led lights(on/off)..and the looks is damn nice too compared to the u2..and most probably the cooling is better than the u2, because the x3 is on par with the cooler master u3(which has three fans) at rm88..so now, the x3/u3 is more powerful than the u2..but the looks of x8 and the big fan is nice and gaming like

you're using it for rendering too? what course are you in? hahaha
and i must applaud for your dedication to get the Asus G55  but can't you confirm that will there be stock first? you don't want to go home empty handed. And most probably i'll get the u2 or the u3 cooler pad. I'm not sure, but then i also like the x3 design. There's another coolermaster product called the sf-19, managed to find a dealer selling it but its around rm150 or so

To other bros that are still waiting for the g55, good luck another week to go. To be honest i'm starting to lose my interest in the G55 and alien cells are infecting me so hope my laptop will arrive asap to cure this

there will be a newer revision for the coming G55 batch. The previous batch was S1095V, that comes only with a normal bag and they're currently out of stock and will be replaced with a newer revision. Which I forgot what code number already, but it'll come with an exclusive Targus ROG backpack and ROG mouse. Specs wise, they are the same.

1. no idea, never played guild wars 2 but i think it should be no problem maxing it out

2. i am also getting this for my cad applications like Revit, 3ds Max, Autocad, sketchup and along with photoshop/illustrator. I may give some opinion on this. Cad applications like autocad 3D could rely more towards the CPU. I'm not sure how much will the GPU be used. I've been researching about the performance of GTX660m gpu. And i'm still not sure whether 3D softwares are using more of CPU or GPU. But i could tell that the latest 3ds Max 2012/2013 has started to use the gpu to boost its performance. Maybe the same for autocad 2012/2013. However, the 660m may not be the best card to run your softwares smoothly (depending on the scene you're rendering, amount of objects etc) but it will do the job and definitely better than the other mainstream cards outside

3. G55 is 15.6" while the G75 is a 17". Both are huge in size, and bigger than any normal 17" laptops. Yes both

eh no worth it la, same specs with G55 only i found one with better one. Around the same price also. Contemplating now.. 

eh, i think Arvinaaa should make it.

HAHA, no way in hell Asus would do something like that. Or they could.. and better, they'll make my story into a hollywood movie title "the waiting king" - story of a young man who waited 6weeks for his g55.. let us explore his journey of pain and suffering.
