use the *111* callback service
in some countries/networks you can just call out like normal BUT the rates are much higher than under callback

Exactly, DiGi prepaid tariff is like the stock market. Sometimes up sometimes down. And we never know when it will change. Quite risky we invest in it. If DiGi cannot commit on its pricing, why should we user commit on the plan?

QUOTE(thugs @ Nov 26 2012, 10:42 PM) Nowadays, I have my phone ringing too short (maybe 15 secs) then straight away to voice mail. Any idea if we can get the phone ringing for longer period of time? The default time is only 20 seconds. It can be extended to 30 seconds if you set up a call divert on unanswered. Thanks! |

Once your top up validity has expired or your credit reached zero, all you can do is receive incoming call and sms. All other services are barred, including data.

What I know is this:
Hotlink allow you to continue surfing (using a data subscription) even if your credit reached zero. U Mobile Prepaid Broadband, no credit balance necessary to continue surfing, and so long as you subscribe before credit expiry, you can continue surfing after expiry for the remainder of the subscription term http://www.u.com.my/faqs/u-broadband-prepaid <- see Qs 5, 6, 7 & 16 Different rules apply to U Mobile's UMI - believe that case is more like DiGi's practice. For Unllimited Mobile Internet 18 or 28, no cannot:Does Hotlink allow it ? What is Unlimited Mobile Internet? Unlimited Mobile Internet is a prepaid subscription service for internet on your mobile phones. Available in both RM18 and RM28. Both plan is valid for 30 days. Your USIM must remain active in order to enjoy this bundle. For U Broadband, yes can: Will I be able to use U Broadband if my credit validity has expired? DiGi will deduct RM30 from your main credit for the SuperLongLife subscription, so you cannot use the RM30 for anything else. |

Agreed. 600MB/RM30/30 days suits me. Hope DiGi stick with that.

New DiGi Best vs U Mobile Prepaid
Ignoring FnF, I calculated the break even point for normal calls is at 7 minutes. A 7-minute call will cost the same under both plans, RM1.26. After that, U Mobile will be cheaper since it is 18 sen vs 20 sen, plus U Mobile charges in 30-second block compared to DiGi's 60-second block. I wonder if the new Best will encourage long callers to keep hanging up and calling back every 2 minutes?? This post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 8 2012, 10:35 PM |

QUOTE(viqq @ Dec 9 2012, 03:24 PM) It wouldn't work. Assuming you hang up every 2 minutes call: Cost you RM0.26 per call vs RM0.20 per minute subsequently. Actually, 26 sen per call buys 2 minutes 10 seconds. That is cheaper that 20 sen per minute.I agree there are better plans for longer calls. It's kinda strange that DiGi have three prepaid plans and with this change none is good for long calls (apart from the Easy free calls which is confined to three DiGi numbers). Perhaps DiGi realized that calling is going out of fashion among their younger prepaid users? This post has been edited by dgboy: Dec 9 2012, 04:15 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 10 2012, 10:50 PM) I really dunno what is DiGi's game these days, certainly not customer convenience. It's also impossible to switch between any of the three current prepaid plans. I've been at war with DiGi on that one for over two years. |
