Open RealTemp
Execute Task Manager > Performance tab
Launch Prime95 27.7
Choose custom, min FFT 128k, mem to use (see task manager for available mem)
Start stressing
Monitor the max temp make sure it doesn't exceed 105C (TJmax) - speed will go down (throttled) if TJmax is hit to protect the CPU from overheating
Stress it for 3 hours +
Don't stop priming & open CPU-Z
Take screenshot including Prime95 + CPU-Z + Task Manager + RealTemp

QUOTE(eXnikaru @ Apr 26 2013, 04:18 PM)
some tips for sandy bridge user..
U all can test the system stability in shorter time with prime95..
Just select custom and test with
1344fft 1344fft 1minute 80-90% available ram for 15mins
If can passed the test u can test with 1792fft 1792fft 1minute 80-90% available ram for 15mins too..

If passed 2 tests on certain vcore..then your system should stable for 12hours prime95 blend test.

the 1344 and 1792 fft is the extremely hard and best test for sb`stability

Normally,if your system is unstable..one of the workers in prime95 will stop/BSOD will happen within 10mins of both test

QUOTE
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase vcore
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary, can also be unstable Ram, raise Ram voltage
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r

How to test max OC by Massman - hwbot

QUOTE
FYI, I found there is a way to bin the CPU on air. I tested it with this CPU and it worked like I expected. What you need to do:

- go in bios and set all VRM config like you'd do for extreme OC
- run 2c2t (to save heat)
- set vcore to 1.55~1.6V
- set bclk to 100

Now, increase the CPU ratio. In the beginning, you will be able to boot straight in to OS. After a while, it will crash at OS loading (for W7, it will lock at the ball swinging moment), but when pressing the reset button, the board will reboot. This means it can run this frequency with better temps! Once you lock and pressing reset doesn't work, you've found the maximum frequency of your CPU.

In my case, I could always reset from lock-up upto 55x. With 56x, I could not reset and had to power off the entire setup. The end result was 5510MHz for my CPU under LN2.

congrats on new toys..

indeed, 5.5GHz+ is not for 24/7.
But this kind of chip usually has lower vCore at 5.0GHz, that's what we're looking for.

that would be a messy cluster of tubing there lol.
90' adapters + extenders should do the trick but I need to add another pump to take care of the restricted flow.

Ts
where do you buy this -->> 2x RipjawsZ 2400C9

From memoryc bro... but now this model not available anywhere across the globe already.
your best bet is the 2133C9 kit or wait for the 2400C8 (not sure availability though)

Now i need to add one more PSU for the extra PCIE connector on the mobo. One AX1200 is not enough doh.gif

can the 3930k takes up more than 1.5v? and how high can the temp 3930k handle?
*
user posted image
although Intel recommends 1.4v as the safe limit, 1.5v is doable & actually fine as long as you have a proper cooling. so it is more to the temperature as the main concern. SB-E limit is 91C.

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Dec 9 2011, 02:53 AM)
No stock on the 2400, the next piece already back ordered by a customer. Wait time may be over a few months for the 2400. I recommended this to bro Norazam:
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=450&c1=1&c2=3

with ready stock but I think he wants the other 2400 CL9 brows.gif

Since the CL8 kit already booked by you there is nothing else available besides the above ram.

<1.5V to hit 5ghz looks really sweet. Most of my customer's 2500/2600k needs 1.5V to hit close to 5ghz.
*
For me as long as it's binned at higher speed the blue 2400 is not really bad
RM600 cheaper than the black 2400C9, I'd use that extra money to buy an SSD brows.gif
Waiting for the 2400C8 kit, & hope the price is right as well hehe...
yalor there were only 2 out of nearly 15pcs of 2600K i've tested before could stable at < 1.5v.
2 of these were bought as used at higher price than a brand new unit

btw..did u manage to get ur temp?
*
Oh yeah 3930K 5.0GHz at 1.5v hit 72c core temp when stressed with LinX at load. I will try to get a proper screeny later.

This chip is roughly 10c cooler than my golden 2600K at 5GHz. Btw my wc set is around 25c better than Corsair H5O, just in case if u wanna compare with a high end aircooler.
