The Shell Helix Invasion Tour 2011 in collaboration with ZTH
So what do you get when you cross one of the most popular automotive websites in Malaysia with one of the most popular engine lubricants in the world?


Granted, it could be a lot of things, but the awesome guys (and gals) at Zerotohundred.com (ZTH) have decided to throw in an awesome drive over to both tips of Malaysia; Johor Bahru this weekend, and to Penang the next weekend. This won’t be the normal kind of drive, though, as joining the fun will be a bunch of supercars and sportscars; Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Porsche’s and Lotuses, in addition to other exotics.

That’s not all, folks. TCG is fortunate enough to be chosen to tag along with ZTH in their inaugural collaboration with Shell. This means that we will be heading down in speed and style, stopping at various key points to drive (pun intended) the message home to people around Malaysia; that the engine needs love too, and using the right engine lubricants matters.

Thus, in order to enable you, the reader, to fully comprehend the scale of excitement we at TCG are going through, we’ll need to write a bit about the why’s and what’s of this event.

The Shell Helix Invasion Tour is something of a CSR campaign by the folks at Shell to educate consumers about the crucial nature of engine maintenance and care, whilst alluding to environmental protection as well. Thus, in order to disseminate the message, Shell is collaborating, for the first time, with Zerotohundred.com, one of Malaysia’s most popular automotive and motoring portals.

The first leg of the extremely exclusive road trip will make their stops at Malacca town and also a local conservation and awareness centre; Kelab Alami in the subdistrict of Tanjung Kupang in Johor, Malaysia. There, the drivers (and us) will get to know the efforts made by local activists about the protection of the environment along the coast, and the importance of such an initiative. Following the convoy will be a few lucky winners from the ZTH-organized competitions on their website. These winners will get a chance to be driven with the convoy, in selected Ferrari supercars.

Salman, one of the winners, remarked “It’s a priceless, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Shell and Ferrari rock my world!”

Shell and Ferrari, you will definitely rock our world too!

Also, thanks to the gung-ho guys at Lotus Cars Malaysia, there will also be an autocross competition for the Lotus owners; the Danga Bay Time Attack Challenge the next day.
