I've never been one to believe in the supernatural. Ghost stories are for children and the foolish, I told myself. But today changed that. The second I launched the game, something was different. I felt the temperature drop in the room I was playing in, but I thought nothing more of it. Then, the sounds of passing cars outside my building ceased. Odd, I thought, on a day like this. I had yet to see the thick, black fog that now covered everything. Soon, I heard the cries of children. Low at first. But as the game loaded they grew louder and louder, and the pain and terror in their voices became more audible with each passing second. At this point I knew something was wrong. I opened the task bar to quit the game, but nothing happened.
My computer didn't respond to any of my commands. I reached for the power button but my body was frozen in place. The game had almost loaded completely at this point, I noticed, as my eyes could do nothing but stare at the screen. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my very walls bleeding and the floor beneath my feet had turned into a black terrible abyss, which stank of the rotten dead. I had since long lost control of my bowels and my will to live had been sucked from me. I thought to myself, that I might as well see what horror I have wrought open myself, what darkness the game had thrown at me which had destroyed my very existence, my world, from the core. What I found there, in that dark, twisted, evil place, where good and hope had since long perished and given room for despair and grief, was
