I overstretched my biceps two days ago><.. Now my biceps is swollen and the pain is awful when i try to stretch it..Currently no pain near my joints.. So could this be possible due to biceps rupture or it's solely due to overworking? Would it be fine after i give it some rest? Thanks in advance.. wub.gif

Swollen as in looking swollen or you think it's swollen mate? Overstretched doing what? I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's just DOMS(google this). But nevertheless do elaborate on what you mean by swollen and how you overstretched it. Highly unlikely that you tore your bicep tendon but better safe than sorry.

So what happened?

i don't think it's DOMS if the muscle is swollen. But then you only did more reps than usual. no idea man, you got to judge for yourself

what kind of exercise ? what I can advise you to do is put some ice on it. Help the swelling go away. If it starts getting blue black, most probably it's a muscle tear.

Why must you put the love emoticon there at the end of your post when telling us about the rupture? That's.... freaky. Like something else phallic ruptured.

the description he gave is extremely vague -__- . And honestly, DOMS that give swelling like a curl doesnt sound right but then again, I asked him and he insisted it's swelling. So.. yea.

I'm gonna guess DOMS. He probably means he can't totally straighten his arm when relaxed. If there isn't any sharp pain I shouldn't think its serious. Else it would have been numb by now or something.

Sorry, i was in a rush this morning..My arms used to be flat, that's why i insisted it to be swollen..
I guess it's pretty much due to DOMS.. I have googled it.. The descriptions stated are pretty much similar to what I'm encountering now..
Hope it really disappears after five to seven days..

Thanks you so much for the advice.. I really appreciate it..

I experienced a tore (not too sure though) when I was doing my triceps last week. But the thing is.. there was sort of a crack sound. like 'tak tak tak' whenever I lifted. It was swollen and hurt whenever I stretch for a few days.

here's how rupture of the biceps tendon looks like :

moving of the body of biceps towards the shoulder or towards the elbow, depending on which end of tendon rupture.
