Void warranty? ... you mean your car is still under warranty period, and you are afraid SC will void your warranty for any, I mean any electrical problem in your car?

Be a smart consumer, most of the time SC just full of BS....

I changed and mod plenty of my ICE... but rear mirror heater kong, still they change it for me.

When talk about warranty, I only scare the engine and gear box...

Sound wise... HU can opt for Alpine or Pioneer.

As of the reverse screen thingy, I think displaying on the HU isn't it better? More visible and larger screen compare to the rear view mirror.

how does the steering control looks like?does it come with pioneer/alpine in a set?

yea initially was thinking bout displaying on the HU but if we think deeper it might not be a good idea coz:
1. anything above/out of camera range (especially the area between bonnet and rear bumper or at the bonnet left and right sides area) u still hv to see the rearview mirror...
2. maybe there are something protruding or a rod-like obstacles hanging from above...you won't know
3. rearview camera is juz to give you better view of anything below eye level (which is the rear bumper area)...so if display at rearview mirror don't need to switch from rearview mirror to lcd and back again (keep nodding ur head up and down like u hv juz taken ecstacy pill lolz)

anyway those are juz my 2cents lo...hehe...any more recommendation on the rest of the items mentioned in my earlier post is much appreciated rclxms.gif

i am kinda puzzled... how is that going to be different from the rear view camera displayed at the rear view mirror?

its still the cam angle that dictates your angles to be shown on the rear view mirror... which most probably is still the below eye level view...

i suggest... keep the rear view display at your HU screen... and have your rear view mirror ready... this way... you get both side of the view... top and bottom... or else... just turn your whole body back... its the best method to view when you are reversing despite all the technology...

err difference is can look at the camera display and rearview mirror at the same place instead of needing to look at 2 different places la...why wan to strain ur neck and eyes...it's like we hv alrdy used to do b4 rearview camera available but now got extra rearview display to boost ur confidence in reversing...there's a study that says actually by having the rearview camera display on the rearview mirror is safer than displaying it in HU while reversing...

Am contemplating the same upgrade as well.
Was considering Pioneer or Kenwood, since Alpine 2DIN is not that common.

Between Pioneer and Kenwood, is it true that Pioneer offer better sound quality, and KW better features?

thanks

just for ur info, pioneer, jvc can get highend model with steering control + good reverse camera below 2k if u lucky....

player wise, it depend on wat is ur usage...

reverse view on hu is good, you are actually noding ur head up and down with the rear view mirror. most car manufacture design the hu at almost eye level to get ready to the new era...dun stay behind...

after u get use the rev cam for 2 days usage, u will know how to reverse..the rear view mirror will only work when u driving and see got police follow u waiting to saman u or not after that....

btw, focus panel had been done and it looks nice, no worry on gap or etc...proven

Added on December 1, 2011, 1:29 ambtw, the throttle controller i can help u to source, pm me for details...i just need to see whether ur wiring connector is the same or not....

warranty issues? if u get a smart guy to install, they can revert back to ori look if u got prob with the car...
