I'm thinking along the same route. Buy the SGN without a contract and use back my Maxis.

Anyway, what I like to know is RM 2299 the cheapest ori price with 2 years warranty? I thought of taking white but after a closer look, the black / blue looks nicer and more elegant in my opinion.

I'm also thinking if I should shelf out RM 150 more for the flip cover (not sure if it's Samsung original cover) or save and buy a better one...

While book type case is nice, I see it very cumbersome when trying to answer a call. People already complain it's funny having a big phone stuck to the ear but it'll be even more obvious when you have the book type case that makes the size double.

Seems some problem between Google and Inisoft.

Have not seen one. That's one of the reasons why I opted for the black.

Yeah... But going through the sequence of taking out the phone and flapping the cover and folding it to the back and then answer the phone is not too elegant.

What wifi router are you using for your Streamyx and for your Unifi?

The stock Unifi wifi router is crap. If you're using that. perhaps that's the reason for the crappy performance.

This was from the first charge out of the box. Very light usage. Few SMSes plus a little bit of Youtube / web brousing. Wifi switched on all the while. Perhaps it helps that I'm only using GSM only at the moment.

Actually, after much consideration, I too went and bought it at SEP.

But I'll give you guys a tip... Buy at 1 Utama's SEP. Use with One Card and you'll get 2299 Upoints (worth RM 22.99).

At the current moment, there's a promo at 1 Utama and if you spend RM 1000 in a single receipt (which is no problem when buying the phone), you'll get to redeem separately 8000 additional Upoints. So that;s slightly over RM 100 worth or Upoints that you can collect.

It is a known thing that the B/G on the DIR-615 stock TM router is more stable. If you want to take advantage of N speed, you need to get a new N router. Asus expensive. TP Link is reasonably good and cheap.

Used my credit card and RM 2299 was all I was charged.

The Melkco design looks a little funky. I'm more towards the minimalist design. Besides, how are you finding when picking up and answering phone calls with the front flip cover?

Same card but strange my read speed is slightly lower.

I've stretched it close to two days. Very light usage. Checking Gmail, a few Youtubes on Wifi and playing around the menus here and there. Oh, I switch off packet data and I'm on GSM only.

What do you do with the 3G and Wifi? Do you play games, Youtube, browse the net? Continuous heavy usage would be like that.

No idea because the SEP did the online warranty registration for me as he claimed that there are some things only they can do to make the warranty 2 years. Received the SMS warranty confirmation 2 days later on the 2 year warranty.

Perhaps can ask how the other owners who got their units from SEP did their warranty registration...

Ok... Penang SEP also registers it for you. I guess they can do it faster than KL/PJ because less units sold. In KL/PJ, I think one SEP alone sells 20 to 30 Notes per day.

For screen setting, the only thing I did different was to set the Brightness to quite low (just enough for me) and uncheck Automatic brightness.

I also uncheck Auto Adjust Screen Power.

Asphalt 6 HD I downloaded FOC from Samsung Apps.

With those settings, try and recharge it. Perhaps it takes a while for the built-in software to measure actual current draw.

FYI, I was using the Snowfall Live wallpaper at max setting for a day before I took that measurement.

Quite ok for jeans (Levi's 501).

If your pocket is a little shallow, becareful especially when driving. Coming out of the car, the phone can easily slide out and drop on the road because it's big and thin. Luckily for me, I put my phone in my left pocket of my bermuda shorts. If it was right pocket, it would have dropped on the road.

Great tip. Do you need to be rooted to do this?
