alienware and asus G series..which 1.. =.='

IMO, go for ASUS ROG if you're opted for spec more than after sales service (which is really bad). go for Dell Alienware if you are concern about the future of your laptop

Probably after Haswell is released nod.gif
So its probably like what you said, around August or so (new technology will take some time to reach Malaysia)  hmm.gif

i see... haswell is expected to be released in March from the rumors that i read... hopefully it wouldn't take until august for it to be released on Alienware. but i'll keep my hope low though... huhu.
i hope i can wait till then.. rolleyes.gif

Should be ok if your tech level = basic. I think you'll need converter bay for the SSD.

It's quite easy, just unscrew and replace ur hdd, ssd will fit in the m17x hdd tray

thanks for both answer. currently i have 1 750gb hdd running on my m17x. planning to put another 1 ssd as a system as last time when i opened up my m17x to clean it up, i saw another hdd bay. but afraid to open and check on it, afraid might void the warranty. so it wouldn't void the warranty isn't?

btw, i think it should be ok for me to do it by myself. for those who planned to put ssd inside the m17x, this is one of the good guide.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8TBjqrxeXA

but from his explanation, it is better to put it in module 1 instead of module 0 (primary bay). any comment on this?

for gaming purposes, is RAM with 1600 and 1333 mhz speed diff noticeable?

and is m17x-r3 compatible with 1600 mhz? currently im using 8gb ddr3 1333 mhz.

last question, the 7mm thick SSD can be fit in into the hdd bay of m17x r3..? afraid buy wrong stuff. huhu.

thanks.. smile.gif

faster RAM won't do much difference in gaming, only in benchmarks you can see the difference

7mm SSD will fit nicely as you just need to screw the sides to the caddy, I'm also using a 7mm ssd now

thanks. then SSD will be my pick then. i think my 8gb 1333mhz ram will do fine..

btw, for those who use m17x, you guys use what type of sleeves? other than the one that comes with the m17x. hmm.gif

no its not really necessary unless there is an issue with you're machine, because this update can cause the machine to malfunction and its not like windows update or any other software update.

noted. thanks for the info buddy.. really appreciate it.. smile.gif

i've downloaded some of the recommended driver from alienware arena and laptop review forum, but non of it compatible.

thanks in advance guys.. ^^
