Do you guys think the M14xR2 with the new i5 dual core is good enough? Looking to buy that model because I am tired of waiting for the new XPS 15 L521x.

Does the Alienware laptops use some special modded drivers by Dell? Like can you install the official drivers from nvidia without having problems?

Like they currently offer the M14x with a TactX headset, which makes it looks like the laptop has been discounted by RM229.

It is actually quite simple. I am looking foward to ordering the M14x and I noticed that they charge the amount of the laptop (RM7859 for the M17x + free gift (which is RM229 for the Orion), then they slap on the RM229 cash rebate so you actually get a free Orion instead of an extra RM229 reduction. The "RM229 instant cash rebate" shown is just to mean that the Orion is free, instead of an extra RM229 discount.

The M14x weighs around 3kg, which is slightly heavier than most 15.6" laptops such as the HP dv6, Dell XPS 15, Inspiron 15 SE and Asus N56. It's chassis is smaller though, so it may feel quite dense. They have a 12% coupon for the M14x which makes it to be quite good deal now.

I finally decided to order a M14x but my browser window hung up at the moment I clicked "confirm order" after payment details has been entered. I have never ordered anything from Dell before so I am in the dark here.
Since I already clicked the "confirm" button, the transection has already partly taken place. So I got an text message from the bank telling me the 1st part , RM239 for the included TactX headset has been debited to Dell and I got the "confirmation email" that contains the shipping invoice. Unfortunately I still havent got the bank message about the rest of the payment and there is no Dell confirmation email. Hence I think I have ordered just the headset, and not the laptop. Is this because Dell hasn't calculated the price of my laptop and hence not debited the payment or is my order incomplete and the Bank hasn't received my order? This leads to another issue to me since I basically has just bought a TactX without the accomapnying M14x, can I cancel the order before the TactX is shipped or should I wait until I recive the TactX and the only return it back to get a refund. Some pointers are appreciated. |

My M14xR2 arrived pretty quickly after i ordered it, just 6 days. It just arrived last Saturday. Mine specs similar to chowdm's M14xR2 but I dont have the 2GB card and Killer WiFI chip. Got it RM4255 and is loving it.

Only regrets from buying my M14xR2 is the frankly useless 1TB drive. Would prefer the 32GB mSATA SSD+ 720GB option but it is not available at that time.

My M14xR2. Looks much better in real life than in pictures. It actually looks quite understated if the lights are configured nicely. Good keyboard and touchpad, decent screen, great peformance, and quite portable. I like it alot. Only negative is the rubber coated plastic gets greasy easily, and I specced the wrong HDD option (single 5400rpm HDD instead of 720GB + mSATA 32GB SSD).

@Saint_Kawa, I ordered on the 23th June and got it at 29th June (EDD is 6th July). How did you spec your M14xR2? Maybe my early arrival is due to my mistake of choosing the 1TB 5400rpm instead of the more desirable 750GB HDD + 32GB mSATA?
