Just places an order for the M14x for her, and will an external bluray drive as the alternate solution, I guess M17x would be too bulky and heavy for her, Dell already emailed me should get the stock in around 2 weeks time.

M14x

icon_question.gif Help me, I don't know which one to choose. M11X R3= RM 3,299 or M14x R3= RM 4,199
At first I'm thinking of M11X because I'm always traveling and it's lighter. but.. by adding up another 900, I can get M14x more better spec but it's heavy.
So my questions are:
1) How heavy is M14X, is it convenience to carry around?
2) Is the performance of M14x is 100% or 60% better than M11X? or a little bit different

OMG! Help...  rclxub.gif
Thanks

1. Personally I feel the size is the more important factor in terms of portability, unless if you're also carrying ALOT of other stuffs in your bag as well haha laugh.gif
[I used to own a 2.8kg Qosmio F60, cannot tahan and sold it... now I'm happy with my >3.2kg M14x]

2. The M14x is a whole lot more powerful than the M11x yo laugh.gif (a whole lot more expensive as well) sweat.gif

Thinking get M17XR3 with gtx580M and 3D display =X

Iirc if its international warranty (3 years), and if Malaysia does sell the same product, then yes hmm.gif

Not sure whether the M18x would be warranty supported over here, perhaps its better to confirm with Dell 1st before purchase~
But then, I bet the M18x is everybody's dream lappy wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

QUOTE(maf1a @ Jan 7 2012, 05:44 AM)
anybody here using m14x the i5 version and all basic?
can tell me your experience using it because i want to get this model?
i want to know experience in
gaming
heat
watching hd movies
surfing the internet
and battery life

hope  anybody here can help me
*
I'm not using the i5 model, but based on what I've read and also estimating based on my specs, I can say that:
- Gaming performance would be the same for most games since gaming experience (especially for FPS games) relies more on GPU; apart from certain games (RTS or games that optimizes quad core processors).. even so, the performance differences won't be large compared to the M14x with SB i7. GPU temps for the M14x is stable, average max = 75C without cooler/fan etc.

- Heat will surely be much, much lower; personally I'd recommend going for the i5 variant considering the i7 variant reaches 90-100C during gaming/load

- No problems at all with HD movies, most netbooks could handle this nowadays~

- Similarly to above, no problems at all

- You would be able to squeeze out even more battery life from the 8-cell battery with the i5 processor. My version can last for ~3.5-4hours with Wifi and dimmest brightness.. you can expect longer runtimes with the i5 variant thumbup.gif

There are ready units in stores, but most of the time users would like to customize their own laptops ma laugh.gif
Summore can get the personalized metal name plate yo laugh.gif
Warranty purchase are easier when purchased online as well~
