Always better to register it on your own name so that no hassle later on.

How do I do that? Can I change the information from their Dell website?

Besides that where can I bath my Alienware? Too many dust on on my keyboard. Or how do you guys clean it?

previous m15x owner here. smile.gif

i clean it with compressed air, for dust in the between the keyboard keys. for other parts i use wet cloth and slowly wipe it. for the screen, i use screen cleaner and micro-fibre cloth then apply some polish for excellent gloss. for internal parts, disassemble the back cover, remove the fan and clean it with compressed air, that same goes with the heatsink but without removal.

call dell helpline during working hours. mention ur case saying that you bought the laptop from the previous owner and that you want to change the owner details and address to your name. They will ask you to give the exact information of previous owner.

http://www.dell.com/support/retail/us/en/1.../IdentifySystem

you can try here first, if not then better to call them smile.gif

Thank you for your great information. Btw the mouse pad is very hard to clean as the dust some stick inside the small line. I have no solution to clean that off.

64GB SSD? Mine was fitted with a 128GB one and was used exclusively as a C drive as it had another 1TB and it got clogged up just by program installations alone.
And I do not even game, just installed Windows 8, iTunes, some CD ripping software and Chrome and the normal stuff and it got clogged. Dude, 64 GB is too small man, even for a dedicated C drive.
And bear in mind that Alienware themselves have alot of drivers and peripherals too!

Yes, my 17x has two HDD bays. One was installed with 1GB HDD and another a 128GB SSD as the C drive and used exclusively for installing programs.
The 128 got clogged up with the normal programs anyone would have on their computer; and also the Alienware stock software.

i think 64GB is enough. estimated usable space = 57GB. windows 8 consumes 18GB (with current updates), drivers, special software and peripherals consume about 4GB, thats enough.

maybe the value is RM3400 (since you bought it for RM4000 and the item aged for 4 months). try put the price at RM3500 and see if there is people ask for it at the garage sales.
