RE0 is a very nice IEM. if you like its reviews, you shouldn't go wrong with it.
you need to let us know your preference for headphones or iems and budget. unless you don't mind recommendations starting at RM5k.
*
Really don't mind spending. That's why no budget. tongue.gif Survey for future birthday present, I might say. Hahahahah!

why not you get 2-3 different headphones since your music taste encompasses a wide range.

Yeah, I was suggested so. So, should I? tongue.gif

If you're serious about your music then sure, I don't see why not. But I'd test out multiple headphones/IEMs before coming to a conclusion on what is truly your own taste.

I used to think I like neutral sounding phones, but as it turns out, I tend lean towards treble and slight colour. Also, knowing what parts of a pair of headphones music signature you prefer will make narrowing down your choices much easier for future purchases.
*
So by testing out, you mean I have to try them slowly and as you said find my true taste? That means no online shopping? tongue.gif Haha. So any shops recommended? Doesn't matter where, as long as they sell good quality and price. smile.gif

Hello guys. Noob question. I was told by a friend that when you buy a new headphone, you need to use it more to make it sound nicer? Is this true? If so, mind enlightening me? smile.gif

Oh, I see. Thank you for the detailed explanation and examples. So, what my friend did was, he played metal music on his headphone at night while he goes to sleep. I don't know the difference because I didn't try his headphone before this burning-in he did.

So, what are burn in music? :0

It's something like White/Pink noise, just a track which you put on loop when you're burning in your headphones. As for the way your friend is doing it, it's not really recommended. It's best if you let your headphones rest after 3-4 hours of burn-in, as not to wear them out too soon due to continuous use. smile.gif Also, volume should be about 5-10% higher than your usual listening volume, NOT at full blast.
*
Haha. That was his mistake then. tongue.gif Forgot which brand he's using to tell you. So different tracks are used for burn ins on different headphones, right?

Tracks used for solely burn-in purposes usually encompass the entire sound spectrum(?) from the highs to the lows, allowing for a complete burn-in. I've seen people use just songs for burn-in, but using a specific genre... I'm not too sure about that. hmm.gif If your friend used metal music for burn-in then his headphones might not have a full burn in due to the nature and sound sig of the music genre, bass would still be not fully burnt in, for example.
*
I see. So what about dubsteps songs. They have pretty much bassy and treble sounds, right? Sorry noob question. tongue.gif

There is no right or wrong music/songs to use when burning. Just use whatever you want. The main purpose of burn-in is to pump as much music into the drivers so it will loosen up over time, and when it does, it has more space and area to move in between the diaphragm so they can push more air out, resulting in a more dynamic sound and better bass response across all frequencies. It's similar to wearing new shoes, you might get blisters or sore feet in the beginning, but it'll eventually break-in and settle with your feet size.

Pretty much all I need to know. Thank you for your time, bro!

Anyone tested Sonic Gear Earpump Pure and Aura? How do they perform? Just want to listen to some opinions... Balanced armature in those phones... I actually tested them. Anyone want test can find it at lowyat Thundermatch. Frankly speaking, the Pure, despite named "Pure", it bassy, typical Sonic Gear. Didn't get to listen to it nicely. They connected it to their own source, right side of the earphone no sound... Tried the aura too, the built is bad! It won't fit nicely and fitting it wrongly, the sound is totally wrong. If it's not fit nicely, it sounds like RM20 earphone. Too bad I can't get it perfectly fit without holding my hand to push it in. The most important thing is... When I take out, the tip came off and stuck in my ear canal! What is that? My earpump 2 pun no such problem, priced RM23X got such design problem (or accessories problem). sweat.gif Both aura and pure are priced higher than the Feels Pro 900

I won't recommend them to anyone laugh.gif

Don't they have different sizes of those plugs where you can fit nicely into your ears? And for some people, their right ear may fit with different size than the left ear. smile.gif

If it was up to me, I'd look at the sound I like to find first. For example, do I like bass, or do I like more clarity and airiness and treble than my current setup. Next, look at your source and what can it do, what sound does it offer? Then I start looking at price, and to what extent am I willing to spend my money on. Then, I narrow down my selection within that price range.

For the headphone selection part, I ask myself a few questions. What does it have that I like/does it fit my criteria? Are there anything similar to this? Can I stretch my budget just a little bit more or are there cheaper options just as good as this? What do reputable reviewers say about them? Can I audition them (I rarely have this chance)? And the last but most important question, what can possibly go wrong if I choose this (don't like the sound, breaks within a few weeks, not good with source, doesn't sound good with favourite genre of music)?

All those makes me one very confused and undecided audiophile.  laugh.gif
