QUOTE(tunertoobe @ May 14 2012, 09:26 PM) SoundMagic PL50. Pretty good with the details while not being bright sounding to the point of piercing. It's a Balanced Armature IEM, mid-focused, very good with vocals. You might also want to check out Hippo Shroom EB. Same thing as PL50, but it is a dynamic driver, and a bit brighter and IIRC reaches a tad bit better on the lower freq than the PL50. Also, try the Brainwavz M1. Surprisingly large soundstage for an IEM, detailed enough for a beginner to learn analytical listening. A very versatile IEM, and the cheapest of the 3. Those are the IEMs I've owned within your price range. I have had extensive experience with all 3, but my recollection of their sound is blurring, so take them with a pinch of salt. Audition them if you can. But I cannot forget how good the Shroom EB and the PL50 are. If you don't mind the lack of eardrum massaging bass, then these two are gems. do u know the difference between hippo shroom and hippo shroom eb? currently shroom eb is out of stock in jaben... i dont know where else i can buy them
