QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Dec 4 2011, 10:37 AM) I once auditioned Shure SRH240, it's bass is quite strong, not really suit my type. Thinking of Beyer DT231Pro, but it's on ear headphone. Will audition it later at Jaben booth at KLCC.

QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Dec 4 2011, 01:23 PM) SRH240's bass is strong? seriously? Then i'm sure u will find that DT231Pro has even more bass than SRH240. Shure SRH lines are actually considered as very bass-light headphones lol. They are more focused on clarity and details. Just back from Jaben booth, auditioned the Shure SRH240, I find DT231 sounds signature suits me.

QUOTE(MrAvatar @ Dec 4 2011, 09:17 PM) lol, no la, I have a tough time on choosing either DT231 or the Shure SRH240, end up getting DT231. After taking it home to use, found out my laptop can't drive the DT231 well without amp. Y I NO TAKE THE AMP BUNDLE?!?!

QUOTE(soonlee33 @ Dec 4 2011, 11:21 PM) dt231pro QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Dec 5 2011, 12:45 AM) Burn-in will give same result too. Don't listen to the one misleading u above. The problem is not on ur headphones. I assume u're running it directly through laptop's 3.5mm jack hole without a USB DAC. Laptop's soundcard has always been very very suckish just so u know. U should invest in an entry-level DAC if u are on tight budget, say GoVibe DAC which is around RM150-200 AFAIK. Yeap, that's why I kinda sad for not taking Jaben's kind offer. However, does DAC alone can make it louder? I thought amp only makes it louder, because I got a Wolfson usb DAC, volume sounds more lower.

QUOTE(Ask_Yip @ Dec 5 2011, 08:36 AM) DAC is not to make it lounder but will give you better quality output. Amp can give you lounder because it will increase the output power, and better sound too. BTW, I am still learning on this but what I know amp and DAC is two diff things, and the advice from sifu here to me is get an decent amp, then DAC. Yeap, now gonna save up to get an amp.

QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Dec 5 2011, 02:55 PM) DAC won't make the sound louder, it will replace the original sound card of ur laptop and thus, make the sound cleaner without distortion. Since u have a DAC already, then just get an amp that has volume control like Fiio E11. Should be good enough for ur DT231pro as it is very easy to drive Gonna save up now.
