Hi guys,
I went to Jaben last week and tried few headphones and narrowed it down to
Senn HD598 or Beyer DT770 Pro or Shure SRH840?
Music - All kind of genre, anything new in radio. Major in music & movies, 1 to 3 hrs top in gaming
Which one will u guys pick out of this 3?
Thanks in advance.

Each has different signatures. After auditioning, I'm sure you'll know your taste.

Why do you ask, want to give us gift? I'll take the Senn HD598 one please tongue.gif

Look in the tradezone in this forum for SoundMagic PL30...or the newer E30. I had the PL30, very good for the price (RM100) but is an over-ear design which you might not like and the fit is a bit loose for me as getting it deep into my ears requires a bit of work (dunno about the E30 but looks to be better).

Others that I recommend is the Feels Pro 900. I actually have no experience with it, but seeing as how it is similar to my other single BA earphone the PL50 (RM200 which is more expensive), and that many praise its sound quality, you should go and audition it. It's available at Jaben.

If SQ isn't really your priority and for maximum availability, I'd recommend the Sony MDR EX57-SL which isn't actually that bad. Or you can try one of those bass reflex models. Not my cuppa tea but for making sound, they're not bad and certainly has a lot of bass. I forgot the actual model though.

I have them both (PL30 and Pro 900). Pro 900 definitely has more details and an upfront SQ but PL30 wins on warmth and sweetness. Personally although cheaper I'd prefer PL30 because it is musicality and quite frankly darn enjoyable to hear. PL30 has also deeper bass impact even compared to Brainwavz M4.

- Budget: Under 150
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM or portable headphone

Feels Pro 900 IEM would be perfect. Great clarity at its price. Can here guitar strings clearly. Warmish tones for the vocals. Lack of bass but your music genre doesn't seem emphasized on it.

Why not Feels Pro 900? BA driver like PL50 but with warmish tone. Some say similar to Meelec's A151 driver.

If with mic usually the headphone sound quality is crap. Buy separate. At that budget I recommend Superlux HD661 or HD660.

If rock/metal BA would be a better choice compared to the common dynamic driver IEMs because of the speed BA drivers possesses. Downside of BA is lacking bass for pop but in exchange vocals and details are superb.

Recommended BA IEM below RM 200.

Feels Pro 900 - RM 170 (lack of bass compensated with the warm signature) or cheaper if used. I just used mine for only a week with my third party tips. It has similar sound signature to the more expensive Meelec's A151.

Sony XBA-1 - RM 199 (severely lacks bass) but better go hear yourself coz many sony shops lets you auditioned it.

SoundMAGIC PL50 ~ RM 200 cheapest or maybe cheaper but haven't seen one yet. One of the older BA type of driver therefore the sound quality is years behind compared to the latest type of BA driver. I'm no expert but something about Siren vs Knowles type of driver. Can google it.
