Hippo Shroom EB, Soundmagic PL50, Brainwavz M2. U can skip the E3, as it actually doesn't improve anything at all. U can use almost all of the IEMs in the market without any amp and they will sound good enough.

Or can say the improvement is noticeable biggrin.gif

From online reviews it sounded like something that'll please my ears nicely even in long sessions.
Was originally interested in Shroom EB for clarity but for now, its a bit over my budget and I'm not sure if I can handle its sound signature. hmm.gif
Nice but isn't it a bit heavy on the bass like the rest of Brainwavz budget line (the same applies to Meelectronics)? Can't stomach headache inducing bass these days... sweat.gif
Solid build quality and accessories.
Is the bass controlled well enough not to do a peak-a-boo in slower songs (read ClieOs review saying that it reaches sub-bass easily)? How would you define its sound signature?
If only I can audition all the recommended IEMs (Sabahan here)... But if I did, my wallet will definitely hate me for buying something else along the way... doh.gif
*
If you are in KK, I can let you try out my UE 600 and Noobandroid have a brand new Hippo Shroom EB but don't know he is willing to open for you to try or not tongue.gif

You can try pm him smile.gif

Thanks, I'm in KK too but moving out soon, hence the X19HD + IEM for daily commute and whatnot plus I rather choose if I want to hear my surroundings or not. smile.gif

Almost pulled the trigger on a used UE 600 at Garage Sales a few weeks ago but not sure at that time if I'll put it to use or not.
Now thinking of letting go my HD681 (previously unstretched - made my jaw area swollen from extended usage (10 hours average) and no fun for about 2 weeks).

Is the UE 600 similar to any recommended IEMs? Read multiple reviews stating the lack of upper and lower frequencies that will probably sound good for natural instruments and vocals but not quite so for modern music.

From my limited understanding abilities, the Hippo Pearl seems like the ideal choice but I can't overlook the Dunu Trident especially with the amount of eartips provided (only tried a friend's cheapo IEM once, not comfortable with only one tip but isolation is good, only can imagine what a proper seal can provide drool.gif ).
I see, thanks for the clarification. Was aiming for something that is enough to satisfy me for a while (hopefully) and play nicely with any genre. icon_rolleyes.gif
For me, audio related gears are more scary than a computer's... Used to think an Audiophile is a bit crazy to spend hundreds, even thousands on gears. I still remember the first week spent with HD681 (first ever "decent" gear), I turned my laptop's onboard SRS off for good and 1+ months later found Foobar + Wasapi to be miles better than WMP (was acceptable before). tongue.gif

If you are looking at V-shape sound sig, UE 600 is not for you, UE 600 is a single BA that sound natural and balance.

If you are moving to KL soon, why not wait until that time and make a visit to Jaben Subang and try out all iem listed in your list? This will be the best solution for you I believe. smile.gif

Hi guys,
I''m in a real debate with myself this time and would appreciate some help.
I'm about to upgrade myself with a new set of IEM's but I can't decide which should it be.
I've read great reviews both about the Atrio and the Ultimate Ears. The Atrio, as I understand, are more bassy whereas the Ultimate Ears are more clear. I listen mainly to Jazz, rock, alternative, grunge and classical music and would like to hear your advice on which pair should I get and why. What are the pro's and con's of each set and how do the compare to each other? (and in what properties one beats the other).
Thank you very much, hope you can help me decide!

- My Rig: iPod Nano 4th Gen + FiiO E11/Laptop + DAC + FiiO E11
- Type of usage: Music listening only
- File format: mp3 cbr/vbr, FLAC.
- Music genre: Rock, acoustic, electro, dubstep
- Budget: below RM300?
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements (if any): i want it to sound as accurate/clear like the SRH440 but with a slightly punchier, deeper bass. I would also prefer if it has remote and mic for iPod.

So far i'm looking at Shure SCL2, Fischer Audio Eterna, Brainwavz M4, Feels Pro, Denon AHC260R and ATH CK400i. Any thoughts?

Hi can you guys recommend

- My Rig: Cube C30, laptop, creative zen and some other
- Type of usage: classical symphony, audiobook, seminar, podcast
- File format: mp3, flac
- Music genre: Classical
- Budget: I don't know, no definite amount yet. around 200, 300 but will consider more if the improvement is high.
- Headphone/ earphone type: closed sealed full circumaural headphone
- Other requirements (if any): I used to have hd280pro, which I don't know where is it now. However at the time of owning that I end up using my philips shp805 more as it is more comfortable than hd280pro.
I am looking for something comfortable for long period, not too hot, no death clamp.
Soundwise high clarity, natural sounding with no exaggerated bass or treble. not colored, not harsh, not fatiguing.
If possible enough airiness and soundstage.

Must not need an amp. I will be using it ampless.
I will be using it at low volume so high clarity at a low volume level and sufficient isolation is necessary.

hi guys. currently rocking the Sony XB700s. really appreciate the seismic bass I'm getting from it after i pair with only the E5. XB700s literally shake my head. I know its not good sweat.gif but its not like I listen long hours to those seismic bass! (or do I?)

I am considering an upgrade. Havent got enough yet but am saving up for it. probably wanna buy the XB1000s. im thinking bigger drivers get even more subwoofer-ish sound.. but i wonder why people say xb1000 bass not boomy as its lower models? not amp enough? impedance also 24ohm very low what~ if only got test unit somewhere.

in the search of the bassiest boomiest royal rumble headphone out there.
*been researching on athpro700mkII, some users ain't so happy with it when compare with XB700s.. its as if headfonia review not so reliable..inb4 mana bassnya pondan.jpg*
