QUOTE(zxeen @ Dec 19 2011, 10:05 AM) Hi, I'm thinking of getting a noise isolating earphones. Looking for one with really good sound insulation. The main reason is to double up as earplugs block out the ambiance noise of my office (I have very noisy colleagues and wearing industrial earplugs will look silly). Of course music comes second, but its not really so much priority. Looking at more commercially available brands like Philips or Sony. Please share if you've ever used an earphone with really good passive noise reduction. Thanks You've to state your budget. Anyways, I've had Sony MDR-EX300 and EX500. Both work quite well with moderate music volume, but with no music playing they have average insulation. Of course that depends on your fit. Mine and yours may be different. The hybrid silicon tip is excellent BTW. The EX300/500 or their upgraded replacement, the 310 and 510 are priced at RM199 and RM359 respectively. I think their price has dropped from the initial RM209 and RM369.

Most forumer here would not encourage bose. As for aiaiai, a fren own a pair tmz1 if not mistaken, he regret i think, he liked my bro audiotechnica more. Ad700. He drive his aiaiai with expensive burson amp. But if can u shud audit in case they do suit you.

QUOTE(chiucheng @ Dec 20 2011, 10:27 AM) just wanna ask...so far who had experience with audio technica's AD500 open air headphones?? i feel like buying one LOL Based on my personal opinion it was nice sounding on instrumental and orchestra, wide soundstage (features same drive length as AD700). Good for FPS gaming, thanks to its wider soundstage and separation you can feel the depth and where the enemy footsteps are but the bass here is not really impressive. Compare to AD700 I have no idea because I did not listen that can before but AD500 has similar features, soundstage, ergonomic and quality as AD700 however talk about sound wise I cant really compare This post has been edited by wingster: Dec 20 2011, 03:20 PM

guyz just make some opinion for me in buying new headphone. - My Rig:laptop - Type of usage:music and movie - File format:mp3,and movie usual format - Music genre:mostly in rock/metal - Budget:roughly around rm1++ - Headphone/ earphone type:headphone - Other requirements (if any):foldable type(easy for storing in bag), durable
right now have several choices based on my budget; ifrogz ronin, sony mdr v500dj, ath-sj33, senn hd218/219. still confusing to choosing the right one since there no place at my area to test it on. im also still newbie in headphone world.lol. if have any other brand also can recommend me.
