I live in Woodlands, Singapore. I still can enjoy Maxis services at my home which is 300m away...
After leaving the phone alone for some moments (probably it enters power saving, thus reducing the GSM radio power) then I lose Maxis line. Then I will be roaming to SG telco provider lines... I have been searching high and low to prevent roaming such as "Manual" as in older Nokia or SE phones. Even my old Wildfire has the function... iPhone too. |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Dec 15 2011, 09:15 AM) My data is disabled 24/7, the only thing is my GSM keeps roaming whenever all the bars drop, then I have to scan for available telcos and finally select MaxisQUOTE(mengsuan @ Dec 15 2011, 10:35 AM) Yes, done that. Typical phones, when there is no Maxis reception it will stay there or say "Emergency Calls" all phones I have ever used does that, even my other Android phone the Wildfire does that as well (it comes with an irritating prompt to search whenever it lost it reception But for the Galaxy W, it doesn't prompt! It just switch lines to Singtel, which I do not want. |

QUOTE(eastwest @ Dec 16 2011, 10:27 AM) Yes, it is very troublesome to toggle the brightness whenever I enter a dark room (cuz I usually read in the dark) and my iPhone 4 will adjust the brightness automatically but this doesnt... I use max brightness for my phone unless im in the dark to prevent eye strain |
