It's identical to the Omnia in almost every aspect except the Focus has an SDCard slot, and the Omnia 7 has better build quality and has a gyroscope. But both phones have the same firmware bugs, i.e. compass and accelerometer going out of whack, sound volume inconsistency, etc.
The HTCs have better control and stability over hardware. But AMOLED easily puts LCD and SLCDs to shame. Pity....Actually,
I believe the Omnia 7 has better camera quality too, however that's subjective. But 8 GB? Come on, installing PvZ and DoDonPachi already takes up 300 MB, that's not even including the offline maps.
I have to agree with you with the highlighted part, the platform's limitations and slow updates are the reason why I've been thinking to jump too. But I'll stay awhile, the phone still works great for me.
My HD7's camera isn't the best, hell can't complain with that size of camera sensor inside there anyway and whatnot the phone was from 2 years ago. But with an app like the Thumba editor I can make wonders with the picture I've taken.
Camera is one of the concern for my phones, in 2012 I believe a phone that should capable of replacing your compact cameras (READ: compact). Well I still have faith in WP platform, waiting if Nokia has anything up it's sleeve.
The screen well let's just not talk about it.
