Having trouble with auto-brightness on my 4s

Last time before ios6 i used to turn on auto-bright so that when i went to sleep the instant i turn my phone on the screen would go dim, but after ios6 when i turn it on the auto-brightness didnt do its job it seems to stay on the brightness i choose.......
