My brother in-law's iphone 4 now suddenly have no sound at all call/sms/keyboard/lock..weird thing is..if with earphone it works...I've encountered the same issue with my other friend's 4S..same issue..end up changing the IC board or something like that that cost around RM120..anybody encountered that? Rebooting and Reinstalling IOS doesn't solve them..it's a hardware issue..I believe it's the cable port issue/spoilt where it thinks it's in docking mode..my friends 4S maybe caused by him using the energizer case that might have spoilt his charging/sync port..anyone?

It must the result from dropage. Its always a bad choice wearing otterbox/lifeproof case and start throwing around like superman. It will eventually spoil the audio IC. Many people face the same problem.

Nevertheless, try not to drop your iPhone. Screen crack is still replaceable. IC wise is hard to judge.

He said he didn't drop it at all nor does he uses any shockproof case like that..he just used it bare..it just suddenly happened. So far it works for my friend who changed the board as well as the speaker which cost him RM120..

You sure he changed @ 120? I think what he changed is just the mic assembly.

I don't know..I was not there with him when he changed it...I was skeptical too when he said they changed it both for RM120..he just whatsapp me the speaker assembly which looks rusted..I think they just changed the speaker/mic assembly..how much that normally cost?
