Did you extend your house? This is happened to my friend's house too. According to a contractor, it's due to no/poor footing.

No. I could only think that it's residual ground earth movement from the piling many years ago but I do not understand what's going on and need help.

you can actually try to use putty to cover it..

then see if the cracks reappear or not...

how big is the cracks ? 2mm ? if anything more than a few 2 or 3mm

then u might have a big issue, as too much separation, will damage the foundation and pillar joints...

Go to your backyard (exit at your Kitchen door), and and see whether the round have crach or sinking too? Or any sinking sign at car pourche?

If yes, it meant the ground is moving, else may not be lo..

A high rise condo just completed about 1km away. Last time several apartments built was just 250-500m away.
Last time, my neighbour had this problem too. Now, not sure. Will check with them.
Cracks may happen and is subjective whether it's ok but mine has diagonal shear lines which is growing.

i did some research.diagonal and horizontal crack are more dangerous.
but my crack is on the new extension unit which is less than 2months old
