i think uses 3G connection. not really sure... i've just downloaded it this morning and still testing it out. later will check and see if can download offline maps or sth like that...

heck, i'll also be checking out the descriptions carefully later... i downloaded only after seeing it's got voice navigation, free and permissions requested are acceptable. smile.gif

didn't really read the other stuffs yet... smile.gif

oh, din know there's Waze. maybe i should just rename this thread to FREE voice navigation for Android. smile.gif

i tested it over lunch... wasn't really successful. the few times i wanted to voice navigation, i got some error messages. but the times i didn't want to have the voice, i got the 'start voice navigation' button (or sth like that)...

will try again later this evening...

There's an (one of many, in fact) existing thread for all things GPS.

I searched Digital Mall...it points me to some Digital Mall in China and Australia and shows half of the world map. I hope they give me free air tickets to go there....LOL.

honestly, tested it out a few times and not impressed with it. searching for location sometimes dun get me the results I want. then other times when I have the result I want, it can't seem to navigate me there...

I've also been testing out Waze and it's more impressive. most of the time, I can find the location I want. most of the time, voice navigation works.

and with Waze, there's the social element... can see what others share like road hazard, traveling speed, traffic camera, etc...

I'll give map quest another try in a few weeks time and if it's still the same, sadly, will give it up.
