Well you can use an aquarium(the normal type) or a terrarium like how I used which is plastic like the aquariums but is longer and not as deep. Then I put in some substrate like sand and pieces of wood for the scorpions to hide under. In my opinion they are quite easy to care for. If u neeed a picture, just imagine the adult scorpion but now shrink it to 1.5". they all look alike....unlike Tarantula spiders when young which look different from Adults....

just remember when it gets more colourful, then its a display of venom like "Come get me if you dare". Next is the smaller the pincers, the more venomous the Scorp....

If you want to go for pure size then of course the Emperor is the best. As for some of the other Scorp owners here, they want a challenge so they're going for the Killer scorps now like tje Desert Hairy and the Deathstalker....

QUOTE(Balthasar @ Mar 5 2006, 12:48 AM) Dude, Leiurus quinquestriatus is the DEATHSTALKER lar...desert hairy is not considered a lifethreatening stinger. U will still live if u get zinged. Dude,Zoejehuty, u want emperor ar ? Mine is 7 bux...USD tat is...not including freight. What do you mean? Yes I know what the deathstalker is called, Yellow Fat Tailed is A. Australis and Desert Hairy is Hadrurus arizonensis. You correcting me about something? Cos Im totally lost about your reply when you quoted me. Maybe you misunderstood me when I said killer scorps? I meant a step up from the normal AFS and Emperors.... This post has been edited by julchin_09: Mar 5 2006, 08:29 PM |

QUOTE(Balthasar @ Mar 6 2006, 12:19 AM) Erm nolar... You're able to get them for your current bulk? Australis and Leiurus? Good luck to the would be owners. Just don't get tagged.I said that the Leiurus is the death stalker... while the arizonensis is the desert hairy...two seperate statement lar...i tot earlier u said that the arizonensis is poisonous...so i state that it is not lor. Zoejehuty, All scorpions are venomous but not all are poisonous...anything with a fat tail and a skinny pincer is a potential killer |

Yeah. All you have to do actually is go to any logging site or those wood warehouses by the jungles. Its a common sight to them....You can easily fill a bucket with them. Just overturn some of the logs...

Doesn't have to be some virgin jungle to find them. Anyway they're more abundant than Tarantulas so it should be easier.... Forest yar...but where, Selangor where got natural forest anymore ? |

QUOTE(X-Free! @ Mar 10 2006, 02:05 PM) Chill Dude. A question was asked so I was obliged to answer. I won't go into the jungle looking one. BUt my friend is a logging contractor working on site and he told me he has a bucket load for me. The Indon workers would either kill is or eat it as its a hindrance to their work. I volunteered to take it loh. But it hasn't reached me....AFS. |

Yeah...Deforestation is really bad. So many species of Scorps and Tarantulas either get squished or lose their habitat.
As for the location, its really deep inside central Johor. Nice T, Unfortunatly too many have been exported that they had to ban the lil critter from leaving.... |

Yeah, I would ask for refund/change if I were in your shoes.
My first scorp was from PW Mid Valley and I was lucky enough to receive a gravid female..... |

DUde,
Can't you put the pics into 1 post ar? Don't have to post 1 pic per post lar next time. Easier for us to see also. Anyway, your pics remind me of my AFS last time around. Gave birth to 40 babies and like yours molted and mine turned to black in color. I separated the mom from them and they were feeding on mealworms. The problem is that they all mysteriously died 1 by 1. Till today Im still baffled by their death. |
