The pix is not clear...my camera is out of order so i used my phonecam to take pix lor...Among the Androctonus spp, i wud certainly say, the prettiest wud be the a.mauritanicus...even prettier than the australis...but of course, a.australis hector is better

Expecting a parcel too...lotsa stuff...juz hope it makes it through with no cassualties...worrying like mad dy lor

hi..newbie here..wanna ask sum noob question..hope u all dun mind..wat kind of soil/bedding tat u all use for the scorpion??

Well depends on ur species wan lar...
desertic species wud need more dry setup like sand and rocks...
savannah species can keep with dry cocopeat mix with clay and sand
rain forest species need wood pcs or cocopeat depends on ur preferences...
I'd prefer exoterra jungle floor woodchips...scorp cant dig so u can see them and no particles stuck to them like cocopeat when they do dig in

ic..i will be having AFS..so can i use jungle floor woodchips aso??by the way..c sum forumers wrote there using chopstick to pick the scorpion up..n tat is not very good rite..so how i handle them??

Try using cocopeat as it can sustain moisture which is essential for the AFS. btw, what species is your AFS? judging from pet stores i've seen, it's most probably H.spinifer or H.longimanus. unless u get lucky with a H.petersii

haha, i know i'll get scolded for this, but i use chopsticks its really a matter of preference. but if possible, purchase a pair of rubberised/steel forceps, about 5" long.

use ur fingers.

Chopstick is not good la...but if AFS, finger shud not be a problem if u dun mind being pinched lol...real hard tat is...
A decent forcep or tweezer shud be very useful...well size of it depends on ur preference lor...small short forcep for small baby or small species lor...big ones for longer sp lor...
Juz make sure that the forcep offers u sensitivity or u might juz crush the poor thing...

tweezers can be bought from aquarium shop...a simple 30bux tweezer wud suffice
its about 1 foot long
for shorter ones, u can try electronic shops...look for pro's kit curved end tweezer or straight ones depending on ur preference.
Make sure its sensitive and u'd enjoy it more...
Cocopeat can be bought from 88 marine shops or flower nurseries...
Exoterra jungle floor can be purchased from erm...shops tat sell exotic pets lol

for the environment rite, how u all setup it ???
i see u put some like woods those thing
i jus get my afs not long, so wat i do i jus put some soil inside... that's all,
and a water bowl, is it ok, or i wanna put some plant or wat ??

Well...erm up to u wan lor...i personally dun wanna see a dirty scorp with dirt particles stuck on the scorps so thats why i used Exoterra jungle floor wood chips...
Particles too big to get stuck on the scorpions...

Just keep the setup easy so that u can maintain it without much hassle. Too much things in there and u may not see them too often and u cant do anything to help them if they are sick until its too late...

Just keep it simple...

if they are sick??? how to know whether they are sick or ot ?
