I put both of my afs into the same tank.. 1 male 1 female. The male ate the female. Oh well..

Anyway, I'm going to get some yellow scorpions from Thailand. Don't know what species it is tho. Will post some picture when I get it.

Emps and AFS have large pedipalps and pinch hard on their preys, they use this to pin their prey down and feed. Scorpions that have more slender pinchers, have fatter tails that pack venom potent enough to disable the prey quickly, these guys can be considered trigger happy and will strike if they are under threat. You'll be amazed to see how fast and nimble they are!

There are many ways you can agitate a scorpion that is known to use their pincher rather than stinging to strike (and the person who demonstrated to you hit the right spot). From what little experience I have so far, Emps are shy scorpions prefer to flee when threatened. They do not come running at you with telson raised ready to peck. Wouldn't want to push them too far tho. Emps are just gorgeous.

That said, I'd rather leave handling scorpions(or any other venomous critter) to those who do it on youtube. Don't think the risk is worth taking.

A few from my AFS litter after a glut session last month(yes they are overfed!). My fault, I tossed in one too many crickets as I left for a weekend away from home. Their mesosoma looks much better now after cutting down a little on food.

They have recently celebrated their 1st birthday, at instars 5-6.
