You need the Puspakom letter to sell/transfer your car. So.. seller usually bear it.

Bro,

I am going through the process now today, hehe. waiting for the result:

1. How much the PUSPAKOM gonna charge rm?
- normally RM90 if you do it yourself. You can pay runner to do for you and price varies.

2. How long they gonna check my car?
- depends on the queue normally 3-4 hours including waiting.

3. PUSPAKOM will check what part of the car.is it all body, engine, or just want to be confirm the part is not kereta potong.
- There is a list of items including the one you mentioned.

4. In this situation, between me and the buyer, ocassionly, is it must pay for puspakom inspection fee..
- Normally seller but if you buyer rich, you can ask him to pay. Mutual agreement.

Just gotten my result:

B5 failed because of windscreen tint. I need to tear it off and go back to inspect again. WTF. This B5 need to pass for the sack of ownership transfer.

B7 one part failed because of brake pad, and B7 is mainly for buyer to see, so I will have to fix it otherwise buyer won't be happy.

Good and buy about this inspection. Good for buyer, but sucks for the seller.

Do they tear off all tints? What if you have a quality tint like v-kool installed? Massive waste to rip that off!

That's just messed up. All those buggers (myself included) who advertise their cars with vkool actually won't be able to sell the vkool with the car which is very f'ed up!

Would like to ask bout tinted glass. Through asking around, i found out that the procedure at puspakom now requires all your tints to be removed regardless of whether it fulfills their specifications.

Can anyone confirm this?
Are there any other ways of bypassing this with a runner??
Buying a second hand car with vcool. Feels kind of waste money to retint it again later.

I was told that the tint according to JPJ’s regulations – which is a minimum of 50% VLT (visible light transmission) for side and rear windows while you need a minimum of 70% VLT for the front windshield.

The things they will check

1. Identification Check
Verified the engine and chassis number of your vehicle

2. Above Carriage Check
Detailed inspection for defects on the upper body in accordance with the Road Transport Act 1987.

3. Emission Test
Density of particles in diesel engine emissions are gauged through free acceleration tests and volume of gases e.g. HC and CO from petrol engines are gauged through idling tests.

4. Brake Test
Tests for brake service efficiency, dynamic imbalance, run-out, residual force and parking brake are conducted to ensure optimal braking performance.

5. Side-Slip Test
Lateral movement of the vehicle is tested to fulfill optimal road handling criteria.

6. Suspension Test
Check the effectiveness of the suspension system (springs, shock absorbers, joints) on each axle.

7. Speedometer
Check the accuracy of the speedometer against the road speed at the wheels.

8. Headlight Test
Measure the intensity and projection of the vehicle headlights.

9. Undercarriage Check
Thorough inspection of the undercarriage with vehicle being on the Axle Play Detector.

10. Tinted Glass Test
The tinted glass ascertains the Visible Light Transmission of your vehicle

From what I understood,

@Puspakom inspections
B5 - RM30 > Seller pays
B7 - RM60 > Seller pays

@JPJ
If the purchase is HP from bank will be RM150 > Should this be paid by Buyer or Seller?

If purchase is Cash, then transfer will be RM100 > Seller or Buyer pays?

actually, u can check for the price on puspakom website.
however, i am not sure what is needed to complete the inspection (is it just transfer of ownership, or inclusive of others).

Here's a good tips. I sold my car to a close friend, and I sent my car to Puspakom myself. Yes, they tear on (partially) tint film that doesn't conform to their specs. In my case, only the front windshield. They use a visible-light meter to check.

However, since the tint was EcoTint and they guarantee it conforms JPJ standard, I gave my EcoTint receipt and warranty card to my friend. She went and claim warranty replacement for FREE!

I have completed the B5 inspection today at Petling jaya. Its a PASS.

But the security had asked me specifically if I had an appointment and he checked with the car NO. May be shah Alam is diff I dont know "Ware Wolf"

Just to be on the safer side book an appoinement. no harm smile.gif

Cheers. you guys can PM me if you need any information on the inspection.

They were checking :
1. tint (I removed before going). Their instrument is so sensitive I heard, even if youhave a JPJ compliant tint it will fail. So better be aware.
2. brakes
3. head light
4. engine no, casis no
5. All windows (he removed the rubber and chked soemthing. dont know what)
6. Physical inspection around
7. Under car check.

Basically it all took me 15 min only. It was quick and the whole process including waiting in a 4 car queue took me less than 45 min.

All process is neat and I feel no runners are required for this. I dont know Malay and I could still make this. drool.gif

Cheers guys, all the best thumbup.gif

Guys, does Puspakom B5 (Transfer of Ownership) inspection check on bodykit?

I'm selling off my Proton Putra with evo 3 front bodykit, and i don't have the original bodykit.

Just wanna confirm before going for inspection.

Thanks in advance

depends, on paper they should be checking.... but i have heard of cases where they just get away (not sure if $ is involved in these cases)
basically from what i understand....
-bodykit cannot be horrifyingly huge (ur case its fine)
-car cannot be converted sampai cannot recognise its make/model (not sure if u pass this)
-front lights CANNOT be converted off another model (dif shape whatnot, if its a complete evo convert you might not pass this)
-logo must be there (but my car tadak logo, also pass)

Oh ok, thanks for the info.

I guess mine cannot pass on bodykit then, it's not those kind of wide body or huge bodykit, but a full convert of evo 3 bumper + hood + fender + headlamp T_T
Logo pun tadak

Guys, does Puspakom B5 (Transfer of Ownership) inspection check on bodykit?

I'm selling off my Proton Putra with evo 3 front bodykit, and i don't have the original bodykit.

Just wanna confirm before going for inspection.

Thanks in advance

Tinted glass need to have l70% light penetration for front & 50% for side, do you think an out of size bodykit can pass ?

FYI, my car have only 69.4% front penetration, but the Puspakom officer let me pass. [ maybe my car looks mint & tidy and side glass also 69% with anti smash proof flim ]
