Would like to ask bout tinted glass. Through asking around, i found out that the procedure at puspakom now requires all your tints to be removed regardless of whether it fulfills their specifications.

Can anyone confirm this?
Are there any other ways of bypassing this with a runner??
Buying a second hand car with vcool. Feels kind of waste money to retint it again later.

I was told that the tint according to JPJ’s regulations – which is a minimum of 50% VLT (visible light transmission) for side and rear windows while you need a minimum of 70% VLT for the front windshield.

4. Brake Test
Tests for brake service efficiency, dynamic imbalance, run-out, residual force and parking brake are conducted to ensure optimal braking performance.

Lateral movement of the vehicle is tested to fulfill optimal road handling criteria.

6. Suspension Test
Check the effectiveness of the suspension system (springs, shock absorbers, joints) on each axle.

7. Speedometer
Check the accuracy of the speedometer against the road speed at the wheels.

8. Headlight Test

From what I understood,

@Puspakom inspections
B5 - RM30 > Seller pays
B7 - RM60 > Seller pays

@JPJ
If the purchase is HP from bank will be RM150 > Should this be paid by Buyer or Seller?

If purchase is Cash, then transfer will be RM100 > Seller or Buyer pays?

however, i am not sure what is needed to complete the inspection (is it just transfer of ownership, or inclusive of others).

Here's a good tips. I sold my car to a close friend, and I sent my car to Puspakom myself. Yes, they tear on (partially) tint film that doesn't conform to their specs. In my case, only the front windshield. They use a visible-light meter to check.

However, since the tint was EcoTint and they guarantee it conforms JPJ standard, I gave my EcoTint receipt and warranty card to my friend. She went and claim warranty replacement for FREE!

I have completed the B5 inspection today at Petling jaya. Its a PASS.

But the security had asked me specifically if I had an appointment and he checked with the car NO. May be shah Alam is diff I dont know "Ware Wolf"

Just to be on the safer side book an appoinement. no harm smile.gif

Cheers. you guys can PM me if you need any information on the inspection.

They were checking :
1. tint (I removed before going). Their instrument is so sensitive I heard, even if youhave a JPJ compliant tint it will fail. So better be aware.
2. brakes
3. head light
4. engine no, casis no
5. All windows (he removed the rubber and chked soemthing. dont know what)
6. Physical inspection around
7. Under car check.

Basically it all took me 15 min only. It was quick and the whole process including waiting in a 4 car queue took me less than 45 min.

All process is neat and I feel no runners are required for this. I dont know Malay and I could still make this. drool.gif

Cheers guys, all the best thumbup.gif
