QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 24 2011, 12:06 PM)
its normal...u mean the horn part is it?
it's normal...this is the disadvantage of the steering that the horn part isn't attached to it
*

yeah, that's normal for proton's car... tongue.gif

I've raised the problem to SC and what they did is they loosened the middle part of the steering and attached/paste something (dunno what it is) and since then no more rattles at steering.

i see them open b4 as well
when they open the cap..it looks simple..1 spring and some part and they opened it somemore inside
lots of small parts inside
and the time and work involved to fix it is a lot
lots of time = high labour
lots of part = high maintainance...need to replace alot of part
last time when its be4 20k..i claim like 3-4 times from SC already
they fix...ok..after like 1 week..its back...and it repeats
got once they changed the shoes...discovered that makan 1 side only...lucky its free cuz they have "1" spare shoes..not "1 pair"
until now still makan 1 side
how i know?...when i change my abs...they jacked it up and i didn't know they pulled the handbrake..i got nothin to do thn go spin the wheel
the left wheel can freely spin...the right wheel is locked...thn i go see..the handbrake is on
useless piece of stuff...now i dn't use it already...even on slope its useless
oh..and the handbrake lever is loose2 one...i ask them to tighten it...after awhile..loose back...loose as in can move sideways loose

ps: changing a brake pad for my disc only takes less thn 30 min
asking them to fix that dam drum brake at SC will cost u AT LEAST 2 hours
open it is easy...putting it back is the hard part...every small part has to go back where it belongs...
some need the screwdriver to pull it into place....sometime i see them use hammer...lots of parts
*
Base on my experience, drum brake failure are due to:

1. No proper bleeding? air trap may cause brake will be uneven.
2. Brake hose clogged?
3. Using cheapo brake pump? always leaks.
4. Wrong assembly of the brake pump kit.
5. Using wrong DOT brake fluid.

Fr above, feel.... :
1. The bolded part info means it's highly probable that it's an adjustment issue.
2. Need 2adjust cable linkages fr handbrake to back of drum brakes and/or internal clearance between brake shoes & drums. A good mech wld kno how much adjustment needed to equalise braking for both sides.
3. Also mechanical handbrake application does not use the brake cylinders. That's why in case of pedal brake failure, one can still use handbrake to slow down vehicle.
4. If brake cylinders are also jammed, it can tested by spinning wheels off the ground & applying pedal braking.
5. Faulty brake cylinders are better off replaced than serviced cos won't be long b4 prob returns.

Above are my views fr past experiences. Hope of help... tongue.gif

yep, agree with zeone...

dont go for anti-roll bar, it's useless since our rear is using torsion beam, it alrdy act like an anti-roll bar... last time i installed and they juz put another layer below the torsion beam... wasting money...

if u wanna improve ur handling, get front lower member brace bar & fender bar... these two really improve ur handling so much, u can feel every turn of ur steering...

could u check what size that u get?
*
Using APM Performax here... AMT size is C. Bought from the same seller. But still in the box it cause when change to APM Performax, no more sagging at rear even full load.

Those are known as "Earthing Straps"....  tongue.gif

In a humid country like Msia, we hv no need for such cos our vehicles wld not be charged nor retain such electrostatic charges like in those temperate/cold "dry" air countries.... whistling.gif

yep, and that is why it is less dangerous to use cellphone at petrol station unlike 4 season country, but still "don't use cellphone while fuelling".
