for me, the first service, stick with the oil which that SC recommend. Reason is, if the engine has manufacturing defect, it should have been noticed at an early stage (1km-4,999km). After accumulate more 4,000km and nothing happens, then you start to use your own oil from 5,000 km (2nd service) onwards. And when you choose to use your own oil, at least use those reputable ones, not some cap ayam brand which the name doesn't even pop up on google search and if possible, stick to it. 

AN engine will only break down/giving problem during the middle stage (10,000km-80,000km) is due to user negligence and poor maintenance. A properly maintained engine should last up to 100,000km and more before an overhaul is required. Apart from the quality issues of the early batch of Campro, there isn't much major problem reported eversince then.

stick to a strict service routine, don't skimp on the engine oil and you will have a happy heart in your car.

that recall is only for first batch lah. If you get your car after the temporary stop sale order during mid of October, then your car shouldn't be included in the recall because it should be rectified at the assembly line itself.
