why is my 1.3 FL sucking petrol like nobody's business??
rm60@rm1.90 barely gets me 350km

As Sg999 said...abt 11km/L.
For Auto, that's the average for me, too, most of the time. Considering all other factors, it's acceptable. tongue.gif

Let's enjoy our rides & concentrate less/worry abt this aspect. Let's count our blessings... Not wat we dun hv but wat we hv & can enjoy!

A quote from Civic Club TS;

Yup, chk out every car forum, ref to F* keeps on cropping up! Phew!
Feel very sure MOST, if not all, wld hv done some research/ made some enquiries b4 "investing" in a RM40+k venture which may drag till a max of 9 years... Or am I wrong?

And if this F* thing is so important to them, wldn't they hv asked abt it...fr reliable sources?

Moreover, 2b honest, all those user-"claimed" F* values are juz that..."claimed" figures. Agreed?
For correct F* values, numerous control factors need 2b in place, etc, etc, etc. tongue.gif

So let's focus on more interesting, creative, innovative & enjoyable issues. Let's make our so chosen "investments" interesting & enjoyable, shall we?

Don't think most of us can juz "chuck" our rides juz bcoz of a diff in F* values! Can yu?

I definitely kenot.

stock proton spark plug can tahan 20k right?
*
Normal spark plugs shld be chk-ed & serviced (cleaned) every 8-10k Km to maintain good performance.

Workshops used 2b able to do that eg possessing sandblast SP cleaners which really do a fantastic job of cleaning them! But these days it's juz change & change...easier, faster & makes more $$$! sad.gif

QUOTE(Kaellis @ Nov 28 2011, 10:17 AM)
just change oem air filter to works/simota

rpm lower abit 2.1rpm from the usual 2.5 at 80km/h

maybe get better mileage after this
*
Better airflow can lower engine revs for same speed? By so much summore? whistling.gif
Logically in modern ECU-controlled cars, better airflow wld b compensated by ECU with increase in fuel injection to maintain A/F ratio for optimum performance. Correct?
So result wld b more of a free-er revving engine, not a lower revving one. True? tongue.gif

Then one wld tend 2rev more & higher, resulting in higher "uknowat" which most users fear!! Haha! rclxm9.gif

Added on November 28, 2011, 10:56 amps. Most probably ori OEM filter was heavily clogged b4 replacemnt? tongue.gif

Added on November 28, 2011, 10:58 ampps. Btw SC guy din even bother to blow-clean my ride punya air filter @last service! I had 2do so myself when home...sad.gif

Dat's the prob we discussed y'day, rite?

Maintenance rule is chk, clean & 2replace only when necessary @every 10k Km. Correct? doh.gif

may i know how do u clean up proton stock air filter?
air blow or use water spray it?
*
@Home, use powerful vacuum cleaner... Suck fr top of filter &/ blow fr bottom. Also vac air filter box itself. tongue.gif
Best, of course, is to blow using air compressor if can get access to one! whistling.gif

I do so halfway between services to maintain optimum filtration.

ps. Regular maintenance is Key to a "Happy" & "Healthy" engine! No? thumbup.gif

Engine hood (bonnet?) alarm?
Isn't the car alarm module also triggered by switch found @ front portion of engine bay ie alarm sounds if bonnet is opened?

Difference in wiped area not much difference even if yu chose shorter ones. Cos we dun need to see thru that little extra area, true?

When I went searching, I found more common ones are 21/16 cos used by Savvy ie model juz b4 BLM.

So yr choice is a balance of sorts... thumbup.gif
